Help Identifying Vintage Omega!

My uncle inherited this watch and gave it to me knowing I love Omega. Can anyone help me find more information about it?

So far I know it’s a Seamaster (obviously), has a bumper movement (maybe a 344), has a 34mm case size, and has an 18mm lug width.

Also, what should I expect to pay for a service by an independent watchmaker? It is clearly dirty, but is only losing about 20-30 seconds per day. I live in the Midwest USA if that helps.

Any help is much appreciated!

Edit:
Am I allowed to ask how much this might be worth if serviced?

Welcome to the forum. A real beauty of a watch!

Always post pix in the post, never on a server. They will be unavailable after some time, after which the value of the thread is lost.
I don't know where you live, but in Denmark service can be had for 200€ if you look around a bit.

Omega automatic ref 2576
bumper movement
Manufactured late 50's
s/steel cased
All parts looks genuine to me ( not sure about crystal )
It has lovely movement as you said looks like cal 344
Not complicated for servicing
It must be cleaned and lubricated to prevent any part damages and wear
price in UK for servicing in my opinion £200 ( parts not included )

Is it me or does that bezel look like it's had a hard life?

It's definitely scratched but there is a lot of dirt there as well, especially around the crystal.
If cleaned and shot in the daylight it would look like a different watch I think.

Oh dirt, sure. It almost looked to me like dents on the inside rim of the bezel.

While you scratch your head in wonderment, know that I was born without binocular vision, so some things that look more obvious to you are a lot less obvious to me!

You mean manufactured in the early 1950s. That model ran from 1948 to around 1954, that one is circa 1952 based on the serial.

One of the more popular Seamaster models. Case needs a clean up. Maybe look for some slightly better hands. Can't replace them with new as they will look out of place. Need aged, but better than current

Hope I can reassure you - that is exactly what it does look like! 👍
Worth cleaning though - it's nice.

Nice original example. Can't help with a watchmaker recommendation in your locale, but once you find one, please don't have it polished or 'enhanced' in any way. Especially the dial.

Just noticed you're asking for an estimate of value. In the condition it's in now: ~ $1K, possibly more.

If serviced and maintained in original condition: marginally more, but probably not enough to cover expenses incurred.

Awesome, thanks! My research showed about 1200, so I was close! Unfortunately I don’t have enough history on this site to post in the seller forum 🙁

If my uncle gave me an Omega as nice as yours, I'd never let it go. Heirlooms are priceless.

He actually inherited it from a friend who never wore it, and gave it to me, so the sentimental value is minimal. My wife also heard it has a “radium dial” and said it can’t stay in this house since my toddler son likes to put my watches in his mouth…

This is old enough to have originally had radium on the dial/hands, but it doesn't look to me as though it still does. Possible the dial was washed/repainted/relumed at some point.
