Help Identifying a Watch. Thank you!

Hi there,

I am relatively new and inexperienced in this forum so please be gentle. I recently got an Omega given to me by a relative but I’m having trouble pin pointing definite details about the watch. I know it was worn only a handful of times and has sat in a drawer for most of its existence. I also know the battery is gone/watch is not running (I assumed battery). Any help would be much appreciated in telling me a bit about it. Thanks!

The model number is inside the caseback which you didn’t post a picture of.

the year it was made can be found with the serial number on the movement and a google search.

First things first, take the battery out ASAP — this is a good way to ruin a quartz movement from a leaking battery.

you ‘re relative is lucky it didn’t leak over the years it was in storage. It looks like it didn’t, but don’t assume it won’t.

Then find out what battery type it is and replace it. If the watch works, great.

well you can go on ebay with the model number on the back of the caseback...

TLDR: not much as this is gold plated and a quartz watch.

About 1980 by my reckoning. Until you change the battery and confirm its fully functional then its not worth a whole lot.
Even running perfectly its a 1980s gold plated quartz watch which is not particularly collectable. Worth maybe a few hundred of your preferred currency.

Go on eBay and look up your watch and filter to 'sold', and that should give you a reasonable market value range
