My father passed away two years ago and I was left his vintage Omega watch. I have tried in vain to find any details on the watch and would appreciate any help from this forum. Fortunately he kept it running and it keeps surprising good time.

We might be able to tell you more if you show photos of the inside. If you're not comfortable opening it, take it to an expert.

The 14K Gold Filled on the caseback indicates that it's a US cased Omega so will probably not have a recognised "model" name.
As Norman Morris was the US agent for Omega in the era that watch dates from, we can have a look at the Norman Morris Catalog from 1955.
There we find N6236, the Norman Morris catalog number which is about as much identifiaction as you'll find.

Very nice spot indeed, not one I’ve ever seen!

The N6236 looks just like it. Do you have any rough idea of how many were made or how they might still exist?

Looks similar in style to Hamilton Trent and other models also from around 1955.

Judging from the fact that no one here has seen one of these before, I doubt that it was a particularly popular model, although I’m sure more than a few are out there.

It’s just that no one has paid attention to it…until now.
