Hello, could you please help identify Gallet watch.
I am a bit puzzled as there is no markings on the mechanism nor was I able to find dial exactly like this on the web.
Thanks a lot!

I don’t like this at all. Movement doesn’t look like EP or Valjoux for that matter. Not signed and Logo print is poor.

Do you think mechanism belongs with the face and case or is it frankesteined?

It looks like a Landeron movement. I'm re thinking my original reaction a bit. It might be legit, not a collector grade watch though.

Despite using primarily Excelsior Park and Valjoux movements, Gallet probably used other manufacturers as well. Gallet world is very incomplete. So you may have a legit piece here, but little collector value.

I think it's a Gallet Multichron 45 running a Landeron 149. I would prefer to see "Gallet & Co" on the bridge as seen in this example...

...but I'm unsure if everything that came out of Gallet's factory was marked. It may be a replacement movement or parts may have been replaced at some point in its past life.

Most Multichron 45 models that I see are steel-cased waterproof designs while the OP example is a gold-plated dress chronograph variant. Manufacturers often made both kinds for their catalog. The dial print seems OK to me although the dial dots may have been relumed, and I am unsure about those hands.

That's very interesting thoughts, thank you so much for your input.
I am quite unsure about the handles as well. Any other info that you could come up with would be highly appreciated too. Thanks again.

Looking at the dial, I would feel better if the movement were signed and shock-protected. But who knows really ... it could be legit. Not sure how much it matters since it's an entry level piece anyway, and the case is very rough.
