Use a nail clipper, mark the right length plus a tiny bit more and cut sideways, to get a tip. Should work ok. Kind regards. Achim

Whoah cool! Thank you so much! I still got my balance spring cutter back from my school days, I think I'll use that to make a more accurate tip. Thanks for the tips!
By the way, the second hand aren't really a solid metal isn't it?

I think this 2852 constellation had a tad longer gold seconds hand , which led me to believe that it was replaced in some point. I want to find the correct hands for this one. Does anyone had one or any link from ebay?

My solution: find a trashed gold (or capped) 2852/3 and harvest the seconds hand.

I did this for a ref 2846 Seamaster.

Found a dial and movement on eBay left over from a scrapped gold 2846. My watchmaker harvested the seconds hand, removed the gold plating, and voila!

Not exactly cost effective, but worth every penny. Authentic, correct, and practically original.

Cordially,

But 2852 prices are 😲😲 😲 nowadays...
Are the seamaster and constellation second hands are exchangeable?

Find one that's trashed, re-dialed, or parted out. Oftentimes movements can be had with dials and hands attached.

It cost $200 to find a 2846 gold-trimmed dial with a cal 501 movement attached. Not cheap, but you can't argue with the results.

Gold and steel 2846 seconds hands are identical save for the plating. Not sure how my watchmaker removed the plating, but it's impossible to tell it had once been gold plated now.

Oh, did you mean are 2852 and 2846 hands interchangeable? I'm not sure.

They appear to be similar, but length could vary.
