I recently bought a vintage strap lot and in it there were a couple of Rolex stamped straps that I'd like to research the age/model pairing.

Based on the construction and all the other vintage straps I've handled, I'd bet 1940's. And with some of the details, I'm also assuming U.S. market only.

Would this maybe coincide with bubblebacks as an original strap? Or is it more likely they were just stamped Rolex for a supplier who sold them aftermarket? Anyone seen these in maybe an original ad of some sort?

On one of them, the 11/16" lug width stamp is still visible, and they measure a hair over 17mm.

Short side is marked Rolex with the crown above it, long side is marked Genuine Calfskin. Buckles are marked only with Stainless Steel.

    Any other thoughts are appreciated!

    That's because 11/16" is 17.25mm.
