Thanks Dan! Problem is, mostly the forum sellers are in America, or am I wrong? Expedition and borders costs can easily add up I suppose

There are many sellers outside of the US. Patience is key

Also worth mentioning that 6xx, 5xx, 7xx are movement of noticeably higher quality than 10xx, 11xx.
I think you didn't mean to say this. An 1120 is a much higher regarded movement than a 501, for example.

There is a feeling among collectors that a 550 series (550 to 565) is a far better design and quality than later designs. It's quite nice and I like them but, the auto system part, in particular, has issues and an 1120, is much better to work on plus can be set up more accurately in short order. Ask any other watchmaker and you should find they will take an 1120 (ETA 2892-2 base) any day over a 565.

For the 1000-1035, the feeling that the 1010 and higher calibres are not so good is very useful if you're looking for a bargain. Apart from the 1000-1002 calibres, any watchmaker who knows what he's doing should not have an issue with these. They will run very well but are not on the collector's radar, at least at the moment.

Cheers, Chris

You suppose right. But you can get here in Europe better Cosmics for slightly less than 480. Not every day and not just ike that, you need some patience and dedication. Problem is most of the time you won't see the movement, most sellers can't open these watches.

Thank you for your input.

Sorry, I actually meant the 10xx, as the last in-house series. I don't consider the 11xx as Omega movements.

Im not watchmaker myself but every single one I have contact with, some of them extremely qualified (like this gentleman now retired who worked for Omega in Spain for 30yrs (50s to 80s) and who has serviced quite a few watches for me) regards any 5xx, 6xx, 7xx movement as vastly superior in quality to the 10xx.

480 what? £/€/$???

In the UK you can get nice original Cosmics and Cosmic 2000 at well below that. I've got two sat in my box now, one of which I didn't intend to buy but it was so original and so cheap I couldn't say no.

Any pics please?

I really like my Cosmic 2000. Bought at auction mostly because it had an 1171 bracelet. Since I had it serviced I became quite attached to the watch as it was my first vintage piece

David, omg you’re right. I inadvertently posted the wrong watch. Was way too early in the morning when I did. That Seamaster is original and untouched - near mint with a slight warming of the silver -to- sepia tone. I do have one Ulysse Nardin vintage redial. I did have the BOR bracelet repolished.
Good catch. Lol. Apologies ..

A 1012, seems to be in decent shape internally too... The watch is nice.

Don't overlook that fact it's a fitted bracelet, meaning you can't sap it out for a leather strap, nato, mesh etc.

Thee aren't hugely collectible models at the minute and price should reflect that.

It looks in reasonable condition at first glance but I don't know much on the minor details of these.

Dear everybody, if I should go down to 420 with the Geneve would this be a fair price?

£, $ or €?

Is it the one you prefer? Has it been serviced?

Ops sorry, euros. Not been serviced, apparently is an inheritance. Still not sure, but I would like to build an idea of the prices for those watches. Thank you!

I don’t know enough to comment on if that is a good price or not for that Genève

Would not be outrageous, slightly on the expensive side IMO but that's always a blurred line when we talk vintage.
