Looks okay. It's a caliber 102x from the early/mid 70's. The starting bid is close to the maximum I'd pay.

Ick. Too much gunk on the dial.

Isn't that the same watch with the scratch on the inside of the caseback we discussed earlier? It's a refinished dial too. While it looks nice, I'd pass. It's already over what I'd want to pay.

That's the Seamaster Sparkle Kyle recommended. It's a nice watch. The starting bid is the maximum I'd pay so wait for the last second to throw in your bid if you try for it. Are you in the UK? That's the only place the seller ships to.

There are some problems with this one. It has the wrong retainer ring - you can see a gap between the crown and date window. The dial has some marks around the edges, particularly between 7 and 8. The movement has a replaced wheel bridge - you can tell by the different color - and that watch should have a caliber 565 inside. The lugs had some pitting and it's been polished over..... and poorly too. IMO this is what we call a frankenwatch because it's been cobbled together with parts that fit but were never meant to go together. Pass. Big time pass. I'm surprised this seller would be offering it.

Yes, redial means the finish has been repainted - and it's rarely correct. As far as replacement parts, if they're authentic Omega that's not a big issue. Collectors prefer original but that might not be feasible all the time.

And don't worry about the questions. We were all new here once and had similar questions back then. 😉

Are you kidding...these guys LIVE for someone like Gemma asking questions. I can feel the excitement in the posts.

And....I'd recommend saving your money for a couple of years and getting him a Speedmaster for your anniversary. Just sayin'. Of course, with little girly wrists, that might not work as well. Gemma, have you considered a PIE PAN? They appear to be perfect size for a petite fellow...cough.

Gemma, pay no attention to him. He's making fun of me with that whole post. 😜

I actually liked dress watches many years ago, but as I got older I think I needed a more bulky, masculine watch to help me compensate for my diminishing testosterone level. If the trend continues, by age 60, I'll be wearing one of those Ploprofs. Hell, maybe one on each wrist.

This is so true . Real macho men can wear a Constellation and not feel self-conscious.

Where as those with diminishing self images have to compensate by wearing large clunky watches and eating big hunks of meat.

in the running.

Didnt even realise I had a PM- thanks ill take a look. And if you find anything you think i should perhaps buy him let me know. I'll take a look at the sniper too.

Would love to save my pennies but im sure after the wedding day gift he will develop a watch obsession, join you guys on here and spend all our money and any future gift/anniversary or otherwise creating a collection. he is that kind of guy. Currently obsessed with putting his Peugeot 205 GTI back together and putting parts through my dishwasher. i would prefer a watch obsession i think!

The dial looks like an inverted pie pan.

Hey, are those little hearts at the top of that pie pan? Actually, I think with just the right unbuttoned shirt and a few nice yellow gold chains...maybe one with a gold shark's tooth...that would be a great look. And you'll need a Corvette, of course....not a classic...something from the 90s or 2000s.

Peugot? He can't be an American. I don't think an Aussie would restore a Peugot, either. Is his name Nigel? Aw...wait, the tell-tale S in "realise"...definitely a Brit.

I finally checked out the pie pans on Ebay. There are a lot of them, but it is clear the 18kt gold is the one I see on this forum. It runs pretty high....esp with that armadillo bracelet. I'm not sure you're allowed to wear that much yellow gold outside the state of New Jersey, though.
