Been off the radar for quite some time with family, work and other things but hopped back on today and saw this post.

I watches this one carefully and IMHO you got a bloody bargain, so the following link might be useful

https://omegaforums.net/threads/spe...l-64-ed-white-owners.45695/page-2#post-542898

Your 64 has a one year only case design so if I where you I would hold on to it as its a Ed White in a one year only case and looks very nice and original. If you haven't got time to read the link then in short virtually of the 64's had non bevelled case edges, as yours does, I am wearing my own 64 today

As a summary appraisal of your watch:

Case: very clean, unlikely to have been refinished and showing very little sign of wear, under no circumstances allow anyone to refinish it.
Bezel: as above
Bracelet: as above
dial and hands: original and although the lume has gone a bit 'fluffy' I would advise you leave it untouched.

In short, get the case and bracelet cleaned and the movement serviced by an expert, put the papers in a sealed back and treasure them and enjoying wearing what is a very special watch and in superb condition.

And if you don't want it, just let me know and I will gladly call dibs on that beauty

Just my two penneth
Thanks and a very interesting article - although every time I think I'm getting somewhere with Speedy knowledge, inevitably some new information sends my head spinning 馃檨

Out of curiosity, what causes the lume to go fluffy? I had thought it might be humidity or water...

And here is mine doing some serious desk 'timing' with me today

Add the box to you set and you are quids in! Assuming you are on the UK I strongly advise getting to sts to get it serviced

Thanks.. nice watch and a very nice strap, what is it? I'm going to wear mine on a strap until I get some more links...

Very interesting topic, thanks for the link!
Acutally the original shape of the so-called straight lugs case was kinda puzzling me. I was assuming, as many I guess, just one case existed and that the lack of bevels was due to polishing.

As requested by some folks, an updated photo of the Railmaster page as the bottom text was lopped off the original and ask the back page.

No date on the document, but I'm guessing 1965...

Final update / postscript on the above - the extract of the Archives turned up this week, which shows a 65 production and sent to U.K. - so it really is a one-owner from new Speedie. Also the lady I bought the watch from managed to find and send me the box and there were some papers/receipt with it. In fact there were two boxes, she wasn't sure which went with it, but as she also sold the other watch, sent me both - any thoughts as to which goes with it?

Also I managed to source additional links for the 7912/6 bracelet, these are with my watchmaker who is fitting them... Now off for a service and clean with STS...

Great looking watch and very nice kit you have there! I'd also say that the correct box is the one on the right. My '66 Speedy has a very similar one.
