Hello all,

greetings from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Reading and learning from the forum for a while, hence also about time to introduce.
I've been into watches on and off for a number of years and enjoy reading and learning about them, and visit trade/collector shows again etc.
Thanks for having me as a member.
Some of my current Omega's below.
Have a nice day.

Hello all,

greetings from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

My worst ever hangover was in Rotterdam and I had to teach a full day of training in our brand new CADCAM system while nursing it. Not the fault of Rotterdam the city, more our local guys, their knowledge of the bars and my liking for zeer oude genever.

I also worked for one winter in Amsterdam and a few weeks in Lichtenvoorde, where the Grolsch from the barrel is excellent.

Welcome!

Did you also got to enjoy stroopwafels?

No, this is the first I've heard of stroopwafels. My regular routine was every other night sit on my hotel bed (Hotel Parkzicht, Roemer Visscherstraat) pounding out Python code on a laptop, then on the non-coding nights going to the pizza place around the corner where every customer other than me spoke in Italian. Kinda quietly if they thought I was listening.

The park zicht from from the top floor was over Vondelpark where, if interested, you could watch the junkies and the dealers. Being by then a very regular visitor I was on the 1st (USA: 2nd) floor. Whew, only one flight of crazy steep stairs to climb. No view. While working in a printing press operation I had an excellent view over the docks. Turned out very useful once to get me home for the weekend.

Greetings from your southern , language sharing neighborhood. Rotterdam brings me memories of good times but also Rotterdam Terror Corps hard music and gabber lifestyle... I am sure they still play happy hardcore music around there. Rotterdam was always important in the music scene around our parts. Wishing you and your horological experience on this forum well.

Being Dutch is worth celebrating though, so maybe "vieren" is the word we're looking for.
