It depends really, I was lucky enough to be blessed with incredibly attractive wrists but I agree when looking through the WRUW thread there are a great many less gifted gentleman posting ugly, excessively hairy, or misshapen wrists who really seem to have no shame whatsoever

Having already bought a JLC Duo Time 4 years ago I cannot see me buying anymore watches, in fact 2 is one too many, but because the Omega is so different, I made an exception to the rule. I visit retailers from time to time and chat and look at what is currently available but they know I am not in the market. My other interest besides photography is playing guitar but due to 4 strokes in the 80's fretting the strings is difficult but as I don't gig anymore I am still able to enjoy picking for my own pleasure

I do not wish to teach my granny to suck eggs but i found this link to Utube that demonstrates the use of a Rattrapante Omega De Ville Chronograph Chronometer. I should point out that the video shows a Rose Gold example, mine, however is the steel version but the process is identical

Hello Omega forum!

I'm 25 years old and hopefully an up'n'coming Omega watch owner!

kennethcooke, I love your post and enthusiasm about the Omega De Ville Rattrapante and I am considering buying myself one, as it will be my first luxury watch. Love at first sight!

However, I just graduated from medschool and I have a limited wallet depth. Therefore I found De Ville Rattrapante that caught my eye in a local pawnshop. But I am so desperate of your opinion on this purchase becuase I am new to this and the purchase will greatly affect my economy.

The sales person that showed me the watch could not find any information of the watches age and comes without original boxing and documents, which I understand is bad. Furthermore, the watch has a white leather band (should be black?) and is made out of steel. Refnr: ST 178.1708 Snr: 78250945
Here is an image of the watch.

Please help me with this purchase! They request a fairly high price, is it worth 41'000 swedish kronas (about 4'900 usd)?

Hi Dr @SomeoneGodly

My Heartiest Congratulations Doctor. You now possess the Power of Healing & just like agent 007 you will soon acquire both the Licence to thrill & the " Licence to Kill " so DO NOT ABUSE the system nor betray the Oath.
As an intern or a Houseman remember my words of wisdom young man & you wont go wrong

God day to you and thank you for your congratulations!

My apologizes for a delayed answer. Not too much free time when doing research.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom with me. I am educated in Sweden and I can concur on most of what you have written, with some smal exceptions; (please, see it only as differences. I am not complaining on our system, nor am I judging in any way the working moral of you countries doctors!!)

1. Doctors do not receive any rewards/ privileges in Sweden as it is sees as only a profession. A welder can be as, if not even more, good hearted than a doctor. Bragging is usually never considered 'okay' in Sweden, no matter of profession. It's more a culture thing. 😀
2. We are encouraged to be scientific in our work, be curious and ask questions, and always critically evaluate planed, or already taken, actions. Therefore we are encouraged to question our colleagues, senior as junior, professor as student, nurse as doctor. Even dispute if needed. As we are working for patients, not for our self, it is reasoned that a title is not always equivalent with more knowledge in the specific case.
6. We are not recommended to put in extra hours to proven ourselves. There is a law regulating the work environment and the amount of work allowed per week. Working more than recommended is not only causing a risk in patient security, but also by showing the hospital board that a doctor can put in extra hours, they suppose all other doctors can do the same.
8. We are not allowed to have any hanging jewelry, rings or watches when seeing patients, office visits as surgery.

I am not totally sure on your abbreviations! Would you kindly explain them to me? 😀

Your humble friend,
B.Z

PS. it would be a thrill to see a woman being the next double 0, fingers crossed DS.
