Hi I wear this Omega watch everyday, as you can see the glass has broken. I would really appreciate some advice on how to source one and fit it. I have other Omega watches but really like to wear this one, a gift from my wife. Thanks in anticipation.
Swisstime and Simon Freese are arguably the best but a service from them will exceed the value of the watch by some considerable distance. They are the people of choice for delicate high-end vintage Omegas needing a lot of TLC, but a Rolls Royce service for a low-value watch is massive overkill when plenty of other competent watchmakers are available.
Thanks... I have other watches I will look to their services for, but as you rightly point out this is not a ‘RR’ watch. It was a gift and I enjoy wearing it more than my steel bracelet Omegas. Incidentally, can anyone tell me the model?
Don't let someone else's concept of "value" affect your decision for which watchmaker to use. If you like a piece that much, then it's worth having one of the top guys service it. As for model, there is a "case number" in the caseback. You can get that information at servicing. Note that we are assuming you will ask for a complete service instead of just a crystal replacement. I've paid plenty for service for a watch you guys would scoff at because I liked it a lot. So stuff it. Tom
Just matching your tone. If you hadn't shot off your mouth, I would have had nothing to respond to... so don't be pretending to take the high road. Tom
