Got back from just shy of a month in Europe on July 5th, so we too beat the real intense heat.
It was a bit hot in Santorini, Mykonos and on Crete, but the temps in Italy were tolerable especially traveling through Tuscany. Venice, Lake Garda and Lake Como were comfortable.
Prior to this trip I did not own a GMT watch. I purchased a new Baltic GMT just for the trip to serve as my daily wearer. It did not seem to be a juicy target for anyone. 😉
Shame on me, but I took only one watch photo the entire time away!
Here we are at the Gallery Hotel Art in Florence, sixth floor with an out-of-focus view of the Arno and the Ponte Vecchio in the background.
I also brought my albino Enicar Sherpa Graph Mark Id with me, but it spent nearly all of its time wrapped in a microfiber cloth and inserted on one of my extra shoes. 😀
I did manage to wear it one night out to dinner.
I enjoyed the Baltic.
Cheers,
Joe
The accused denies being responsible for the attack,,,,,,,,so was he irresponsible for the attack?
Re: the Baltic—do you find it to be robust and well made? I had one of their divers for a little bit and really liked it aesthetically. Great vintage inspired design. But the crown/stem was super wobbly, to the point where I worried it might just pop off. Not sure if that’s some sort of intentional feature or not…
I am generally pleased with the overall quality of the Baltic GMT and the crown has no observable play in the stem. However; I have noticed a couple of times that I failed to screw down the screw-down crown just by giving it a simple twist as would be fine with other watches I have with screw-down crowns. The threads do not always mate smoothly and it feels as though cross-threading may occur if one is not careful. The threads have not been damaged so far, but I am aware of the possibility.
What part is it you don’t understand? In any case four question marks make no sense.
No he was very responsible you clown, he was kind enough not to chop the watch off his hand.
Innocent until proven guilty. You have missed the point with your sarcastic tone, maybe you were trying to make light of it?
CLOWN…….. I resemble that remark!
First time traveling to London, Paris, Florence, and Rome. Staying in 5 star hotels with small group. My daily is a, just now, 1 year old Planet Ocean. After reading several articles on watch theft in Europe my question to someone with more experience than me is wear it or put it in the safe and wear my knock around watch (stainless Casio G-Shock Utility)? In addition to the bracelet I have a black alligator with deployment, a black textured rubber with deployment and a black NAT0. All are Omega straps. Wore the watch to St. Martin a couple of times and the attitude there was it was just another shinny dive watch!
