Has anyone here ever put a non-factory OEM rubber strap on the world timer?

I noticed that on all the world timers with the rubber strap there's a piece of metal in between the rubber where it meets the lugs. It's not really my thing, I think I would like to watch a lot more if it didn't have that extra metal cladding.

has anyone here installed a rubber strap that's either third-party or even another one from Omega that doesn't have that piece? Like maybe one from the seamaster line or just a different watch? If so do you think you could post a photo of it? Would love to see what it looks like

I asked chat GPT to generate one, and it actually looks pretty bad ass, but again it's not real, would be so cool to see one that's real

IMO, it NEEDS that metal strip, else the strap and the bezel don't have enough contrast. PARTICULARLY with the black or green ones.

I think a 'solid-color' band would be fine on either of the blues, since they have the steel colored bezel.

As example, check out the sedna gold with bracelet: https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/...ronometer-gmt-worldtimer-43-mm-22050432202001

To me, it is a MUCH worse looking watch because of it is a 'big blob' of 1 color. That said, the DIAL is at least a different color. Black/Green would be just 1 homogeneous blob of color.

I think the point of that particular model is to make other people stare at your giant... pink.... gold.... watch.

You are probably not wrong 😁 I'm definitely not the audience for those monstrosities.

When I had my Worldtimer, I would often wear it on a Planet Ocean alligator/rubber-backed strap:
