I would not describe myself as a Royalist but seventy years is impressive and with a long weekend holiday a lot of people are making it a fun national celebration.
So happy anniversary Ma’am.

Only when announced by Sean Connery 😉.

If that royal picture fell on your head Sean says …….. you only have ‘your shelf’ to blame ;0)

Celebrating the jubilee, Lancaster bomber flypast ,

You did well - a lot of pressure to capture a shot as it speeds past. I just managed to grab some shots during our local 'float past' tribute earlier today :0)

Being an American I’m much detached from the king and queen thing but being a bit of a history buff I have always found it fascinating. I also don’t like commenting much on other countries system of government as it’s difficult enough to fully grasp the political system of your own country but I do enjoy a good book about the British Empire and the past kings and queens. England is impressive not many countries they did not invade throughout history.
My wife likes watching the queens ceremony and I’ll admit I do sit down and watch it with her. So many centuries of history involved in them. And this queen oh my goodness all she has lived through. I think the general attitude towards her in the US is quite positive. She’s kinda hard not to like.
I like that Netflix series about her although I’m sure it’s dramatized. She is to the monarch what Bob Dylan is to music (holy cow did I just say that?)
I think England has something to be proud of in her although I have a few boxing friends from England who are very anti monarch due to the financial thing but I’m not hip to that scene.
If it were not for covid my wife and I would have been to Scotland and England. We were planning the trip a few months prior to the virus hitting the news although we had heard some rumblings. Buckingham palace was on the list. I’m a sucker for castles and knights in shining armor. Scotland, England and Israel. If I can visit them and perhaps a little more of the orient I think I’d be content with travel outside of the US.
So many more your majesty and who knows maybe we can plan that trip in the near future.
Do you think @Maddog would give me ride on the downlow as airfare a bit crazy now.

I think there's a lot of appeal in having someone around who can tell a rookie politician, especially anyone with a surfeit of self-love, "Well, this has happened before, and y'know that's when President Eisenhower told me... " etc.

England, England, England,…..how to piss off three quarters of the population of the United Kingdom. England didn’t do everything by themselves and the queen is the British queen not just the queen of England. That said, a lot of people from the other countries would be happy if they were no longer in a union with the English.

Well I’m aware of the other territories did mention the empire but she seems to stay mostly in England these days but if I really did piss off 3/4 of the UK population I would like to apologize to each person individually please DM me so I can start like I said I’m American I’m a bit out of touch with the whole monarch thing. So Australia, Canada, and all the others my bad man.
