If later tonight, before midnight, a new Speaker is elected what if anything will be said of the date? 6 January? Two years post. Just happenstance? Some strange plan? Irony? Devine intervention. Maybe just dumb luck? Good luck or good management? Anyhow...

More Insurrections to come , if the USA does not start now to invest heavily and massive into your public school system. As long as you have millions of citizens who follow QAnus and pompous Snake Oil Sellers, it will happen again. And that has absolutely nothing to do with Amendments and Freedom ....

Truly larger than life, I was fortunate to see Divine several times at bars/clubs in West Hollywood way back in my youth!

Back in my college days in New Haven he was part of a show at Toad's Place which was/is a fairly famous night club that hosted big names in music. We had the pleasure of chatting with him at the bar and he was a real nice guy.

You need to get your facts straight, son. The US is near the top of the list when it comes to public education spending per pupil, $14,400.....that's more than Germany, UK, Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand and Japan spends per pupil. Yet the US has some of the worst education outcomes now. It isn't a matter of dumping more education dollars into the system, it's how the education system is run. It's controlled, lock, stock and barrel by the left and the teacher's unions. You want better outcomes, get the politics out of the system. You could double, triple what the US spends now and it wouldn't make a whit of difference if the system isn't overhauled to get back to education instead of indoctrination. Just setting the record straight.

From the NCES (National Center for Education Statistics):
"In 2018, the United States spent $14,400 per full-time-equivalent (FTE) student on elementary and secondary education, which was 34 percent higher than the average of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) member countries of $10,800 (in constant 2020 U.S. dollars). At the postsecondary level, the United States spent $35,100 per FTE student, which was double the average of OECD countries ($17,600)."

Just to make this relevant to the thread ... most insurrectionists agree with you.

Rather than let friendships be ruined by the thread continuing I’m just going to remind people that January 6th is also Nigella Lawson’s birthday, everyone’s favorite British chef.

So happy birthday Nigella and we’ll leave it at that
