·A well done release from Omega, it'll be a great daily!
Got mine on order as well. I have no will power even though my last watch was meant to be my last! Now if one of you fine people could tell my wife that would be very welcome. 😉 (Just think "Hulk Smash" and that is what to expect😁)
Regards
Josh
Overall, think Omega did a great job with this. Will need to see it at the local OB before making a decision. Only thing I'm hesitant with is how viewable the hands will be from different angles and light conditions.
Got burned with the Seamaster Heritage 300 where under the boutique lights looked great, but in normal daily conditions and especially in low light, they wash out against the dial. Love the proportions of it, but doesn't get wrist time if I can't read the time.
As far as the lume doomers are concerned, the only way you can judge the dial is to see it with your own peepers.
Where the re-release 321 was a 'no' for me as the real (read: vintage) thing was more attractive in comparison and sits in a similar price range, this new release does strike me as a good one. Finding an original 2998 in nice condition is very hard, making this a better alternative. The grey/blue hue of the dial is the icing on the cake for me...
The pricing is interesting too; a bit below the 'premium' sapphire Moonwatch. What's your take on this? Is Omega backing up its Speedmaster range with a more 'attractively priced' offer in the wake of a slowing market?
(They surely have got me tempted, but hey, I know I have a weak spot for Speedies)
I’ve read it is not much different from the normal professional version in actual size.
