·A reflection from our blue planet underneath and a nod to those astronauts who saw her with their own eyes from a different vantage point. I would like to imagine what it was like to lose focus on any objects that were reflecting earth, including their watch if they were wearing one.
Neil Armstrong (Apollo 11, first human to walk on the Moon) - "It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn’t feel like a giant. I felt very, very small."
Chris Hadfield (ISS astronaut) - ""The world itself is overwhelmingly blue with deep, powerful oceans that take up most of the surface. It’s quite stunning when you first see it."
Yuri Gagarin (Vostok 1, first human in space) - "The sky is very dark; the Earth is bluish. Everything is seen very clearly."
Scott Kelly (ISS astronaut) - "You look out at this thing that is a blue ball, a blue and white planet, and it looks like it has a thin film around it, which is the atmosphere. It really gives you this perspective that it's our home, and it’s something we need to take care of."
And to the black that you see...
The FOIS man himself, Wally Schirra - “I left Earth three times, and found no other place to go. Please take care of Spaceship Earth.”
(anyway, my previous post was written thinking you was referring to the space, not our planet) sorry
