·Forgive what may be a simple question for Omega Vets...but I'm looking at Seamasters with black faces and am overwhelmed by the tremendous variation...I lean toward the Mid-sixties just 'cause that's what I'm wearing. But I've read a bunch of the forum about replacement hands and repainted faces...and I feel like I'm beginning to get a feel for what's out-of-sorts on some of these watches (cooked numbers, luminescence on hands but not numbers etc)
One thing I've never seen is number hashes (what do you call the lines on a watch without Arabic numerals?) that are simply painted on...in all the variations of Seamaster faces, there always seems to be some relief to the numbers.
Is there any truth to that? And is it a good rule that luminescent numbers are always coupled with luminescent hands?
Love to hear if there are any rules of thumb on the Omega design side...Here were two watches I was looking at...to show the difference...
that's more what I'm used to...
and here's one just wrapping up on ebay...
Or am I being Judgey?
