Started my Omega collection last year with Speedmaster puchase. Never thought I'd own one, let alone four! Less then a month after getting my Speedmaster, I purchased the Railmaster. In January I picked up a used 300 MC, but sold that in August to fund the Seamaster Trilogy. The Geneve was inherited from my grandfather in May.

My first modern omega was a pumpkin PO, now gone for more than a decade. It's nice to see that some of these watches are generally the same. A good formula stands the test of time I think.

Fantastic. How do you like the Trilogy vs. the 300MC?

I absolutely love it and have no regrets selling the 300 MC and getting the Trilogy. I love the size difference. While the 300 MC never felt too big, the Trilogy just sits so well on the wrist. I also love the countdown and bi-directional bezel over the 300 MC bezel. I do miss the sandwich dial of the 300 MC because it added a nice depth to watch. Also the micro adjustment clasp on the 300 MC provided more on the fly adjustment to the bracelet over the Trilogy.

It’s not the size of ones collection , but how much you enjoy the watches you posses.

Very nice collection, all winners. Mine is somewhat similar to yours, but I don’t have a Railmaster (yet?).

I’m curious how you decide when to break out the Railmaster when you have two superb divers in your collection (both of which I consider to be on par with the Railmaster’s durability and dressiness). I’ve thought about getting a Railmaster or Explorer 214270, but with a diver already in my collection, it feels superfluous... I thought about selling my diver to justify it, but I know I’d miss my date and unidirectional bezel complications! 😵‍💫 and yet, I would love to own an Explorer or Railmaster one day.

Has to be both - sufficient quantities- to add to the joy. Can one say that one’s joy is equal in the case of enjoyment over one watch vs one enjoying of a number of watches (rarely the case right). One thirst cannot be satisfied by one grail watch- a single or even small handful of watches is unlikely to be end to all for many here.

I agree. No sense buying a vintage if you are not into (wearing) vintage... Would I be wrong in saying that Frank likes tool watches? But then again, there are some great Omega Vintage tool watches out there. Think flightmaster as an example I have at hand.
12 years ago I suddenly realised that "hey, I could buy myself that nice watch, something I always wanted, but never could.." Many watches later, I have to say it is one of the most rewarding hobbies, at times obsession, at all times a passion, that I really only have communities like this to blame..... Wear them in health Frank..

Outstanding collection!

Vintage is a little scary. I’ve dipped my toe in the water but I bought from a reputable dealer who warrantied the watch for 5 years.

I think I read that in a fortune cookie.

Sufficient quantities are relative .

Two comments:

1. buying my first Omega (Speedmaster Moonwatch at an AD) was peak enjoyment in this watch game for me. I’ve been chasing that high every since.

2. Fact #1 above will NOT stop me from continuing to grow my collection 😀

This was me. I went in to the AD with my wife just so I could show her the watch I had been lusting over for ages. Salesperson quoted a price 25% off and my wife said I should go for it. I was floored. I was like a giddy kid on Christmas morning. I will say, getting my Seamaster Trilogy was pretty damn close and I am smitten with it. Worn it every day since getting it last week.
