Grandfathers Omega Seamster 30... back from the dead!

My Grandfather died thirty-seven years ago. Family legend has it that his trusty Omega Seamster 30 seized up and stopped working on the day he died. Apparently, since then it had been taken to several watch makers to see what could be done. Nobody could seem to get it working again.

Last year my Dad discovered it in a drawer and knowing of my recent interest in vintage watches passed it onto me to see if I could do anything with it. I'm very pleased to say that after a bit of research and a lovely movement service from a watch repair shop in Clerkenwell this little beauty is ticking again and bringing me joy daily.

Greetings from my Grandads watch, my special persons watch, my Grandmothers brothers watch...

The watch on the left is what started me on the omega path...remember it from ‘the beginning’...

Same here, this Seamaster is going to have a lot to answer for!
