So in the beginning of the year my primary goal was to get a SM 300 in nice condition. This was one of my targets for years but somehow it did'nt happen. And this year I got distracted again and bought a couple of other very nice watches. Somehow I could not resist the temptation.
So I needed to get my focus back. I said to myself. No more buying new watches! Get your act together. For this I needed to make room. It was coincidence that I could sell a couple of my 120's. Thanks to OF, @JwRosenthal and @Manong... https://omegaforums.net/threads/adv...r-120-166-027-cal-565-much-appreciated.96315/
After this I started stalking @cristos71, @gemini4, @Davidt and others and asked their help finding a decent 300.. Sorry guys for the PM'S!! But thank you again!
It took me a couple of months to get the watch to me. Just picked it up. Need to find a good strap for it but without further ado. Here's my new 300. Thnx OF!!
Great story! I'm quite happy for you... and I can understand why you were sidetracked, the 1st black connie in particular is very nice.
Well. For the last month I've been busy with building a new floor on top of my house and my watchbudget is a bit under pressure. If I go bankrupt I will let you know!
I wont ask for the 300... as that will be out of my budget, but put in the dibs line for that small seconds Seamaster (the last one pictured).... its so nice! But I am not even sure how much one of those sell for and if its even in my budget also. LOL
Looks really nice, congrats. Of those Seamasters in your first post is the next to last one a 2867 jumbo?
Yay!!! So excited you finally have it. Enjoy it as much as I did, it’s a wonderful example. I’ll enjoy seeing it.
Yup- you got the right one! This is a prime example of focus, planning, networking and patience to get what you really want. You could have jumped on any dozen of the mediocre 300’s that popped up on eBay over the last few months and none of them would have scratched the itch and you would have flipped it shortly thereafter. But you held out for THE one, and you’re done.
It's a 38mm 2976-1. https://omegaforums.net/threads/the-jumbo-omega-seamaster-2976-a-rare-bird.89811/
