My dealer informed me about this Rolex Explorer ll 1655 for sale by the original owner. He said that the watch has been a safe queen for 20 years. He sent me pictures that were not so clear so it was hard to tell the condition of the watch. The owner wanted a quick sale so the price was very attractive. If i hesitate, i know someone will grab it immediately so i decided to buy without seeing it. When i got the watch, it was in very nice condition. I sent it to my watchmaker for detailing and movement overhaul. This is how it looks after. This is my other 1655
These seem to hot right now but to own two?! You animal! With that said I also acquired a 1655 recently and absolutely love it so I can understand and not understand owning two at the same time
I have several two of the same watches because i have two sons. I will pass these watches to them at the proper time.
Nice catch Eric and you been on a good run lately! Only wish I was still there in the south pacific to give you some competition
Without me being physically located in Cebu City I have zero chance on catching the high end rarities like you been getting. My crew there in Cebu City are basically only safe and capable of finding me run-of-the-mill stuff. Big stuff like you get are too risky for me to trust my crew as they will screw that all up on me and end up buying a fugazy
Very nice buy. Late 1970s, with original bezel. Wear in good health. One of my favorite Rolex Sport Models, an early 70's version.
Congrats @erpin9. That is incredible to have two in that condition. You seem to have an excellent dealer/customer relation. Mine says hi. These are wonderful pieces even with a strap.
Nice grab! Those are great on the wrist! I wasn’t at all looking at that reference but I too couldn’t resist when I found this one (and directly from the original owner!) I thought I could always sell it if I got tired of it but now, no way that’s happening anytime soon!
You are loving them wrong, Dad. You put them in a room, toss in the Explorer, then lock the door. Your favorite son will emerge. I miss you James.
