路Suspicions confirmed. The hack was interfering with the tuning fork. The watch now runs. That solves the interference with the tuning fork by the hack, not allowing the tuning fork to vibrate. Next problem to solve is why the hack is interfering with the tuning fork, once the watch is re-cased. Nice watch!

Solved that problem as well. A very small adjustment to the setting pinion rebound spring (the long flat one with the hack feature at the tip), and the movement is back in the case. Hacking okay hand setting function is okay, and running fine. I have advised the OP that a friend of mine wants a Spaceview so badly that he might consider sacrificing a body part (being non-specific, for reasons of good taste), for one as nice as this one.
I am certain this watch has survived in the pristine condition it is in is because it has needed work for decades, and hasn鈥檛 been worn. And has not had the good fortune of having found its way to a watchmaker who was familiar with them. Enter, me!

路I like Accutrons as well. I鈥檓 wearing two today. The gold colour one is my original one owner (me) Accutron 214 from 56 years ago. Yes! 1963! I wore it on our wedding day in 1966, at our son鈥檚 christening in 1972, and at our 50th wedding anniversary party in 2016. Looks like new, runs like new. The steel day/date one is one of the most unusual designs of Accutron I have ever owned. A recent acquisition. It was acquired in pieces in a buyout from a deceased watch collector鈥檚 estate. We watch collectors all suffer from a common malady. Not enough arms!

I'm becoming more and more interested in the Accutrons .
I was sent an offer to buy some land I inherited. If I sell I may start looking for a good example if I can find one at a reasonable price.
A friend had a railroad approved Accutron he won in a poker game back in the 70's. He has always regretted selling it. Everytime I mention watches he brings it up. He wears a Seiko kinetic these days, one his deceased wife gave him many years ago. He won't wear any other watch now.

Last I heard, we have only one liver. You can continue to live if you lose (or donate) part of it. But you can鈥檛 live without it. I haven鈥檛 told my friend about the subject watch, so I don鈥檛 know which body part he would sacrifice. In fact, I may not tell him about it at all. I hate to see a grown man cry!

Mainly because there are too many Canadians in the industry.
Since William Shatner moved here over acting has become an epidemic. Production costs have skyrocketed because of all the chewed up scenery.

From this angle it looks like they tossed a few shovels full of scrap metal into a dryer at the laundra-mat.

I like that style Accutron the best. The astronaut is great as well but yours is the type I'd wear every day . Great choice.
Never saw a coffin shaped case before, that one is also killer.

路Glad to report the Accutron is on its way back to DaveK. I鈥檒l leave it to Dave to post pictures of the watch which has been returned to health. The watch is in as fine condition as any watch of its vintage can be. It appears that it had been worn very little by previous owners, possibly because it didn鈥檛 perform satisfactorily, and the watch had never found its way to a technician who knew squat about Accutron, and thereby was never repaired. Previously in this thread, Dave posted a picture of the Spaceview, and owing to the watch having no dial, I spotted one of several problems which would have assured the watch would not run. Dave sent to watch to me, and, voila, I was right, I won鈥檛 regurgitate all the information disclosed in several previous posts, but a successful repair was achieved by correcting numerous problems inflicted on the watch by people who didn鈥檛 know what they were doing. My supplier was able to provide an original Accutron Spaceview crystal which was made for this particular model. As an aside, a friend of mine wants a Spaceview so badly he might be prepared to sacrifice a body part, but Dave isn鈥檛 selling! Congratulations DaveK. Enjoy!
