Following on from my acquisition of a Constellation f300 (pictured) which, following two battery changes!?, is running perfectly, I have a hankering for hummers.
Have been watching this one, on ebay, for a while now.
I have read just about everything I can find about them, and am almost persuaded by the seller's description, but ever cautious.
Grateful for any advice.
Doug

Minor quibble perhaps, but the watch eBay watch has incorrect hands.

Can't speak personally regarding the seller but his feedback appears excellent. Seems like quite the character. 😁

My original M4 (1964) chapter ring Spaceview for comparison.

If the seller’s watchmaking skills are better than his photography skills, then the watch might be okay. He states it is a Franken watch, which given that this is now obsolete tech, isn’t terrible news. I wouldn’t pay that much for a non-original, though at least it has the appearance of a factory built Spaceview vs a retail conversion (these often have that ugly yellow wire in the bottom right corner)

please post pictures instead of just links. For the record…

Thsnks, yes, I did wonder about the hands...the seller described them as NOS spear style, but the ones in his images are parallel and 'block' ended. He seems to have sold quite a few spaceviews so I'm wondering if he's mixed up his images!

Thanks as ever, folks, appreciated.
Still planning to go for it, although it's currently at £461, which is closing in on the limit I've set myself.

The Accutron to me is still one of the most remarkable watches of all time. The Accutron was the “springboard” leading to the modern quartz watch. The Accutron was probably the pinnacle of electro-mechanical technology (non-quartz) which could only be improved on by development of the modern solid state (quartz) watch. The latter day Accutron 214 model that was designed and manufactured by Citizen in Japan is a copy of the original 214 model, reverse engineered, and which is of totally new design and production. Nothing is interchangeable between the two. The modern 214 model was designed for the 50th anniversary Spaceview model shown. I understand there were only 1,000 of the 50th Anniversary models made.

That looks to be a nice one Dug, it also looks snazzy on the green strap. Congratulations!
