I remember a thread I read on here soon after joining in which the member said that luckily all of the watches that he collects look the same, so his wife doesn't have a clue, and he shared a pic of 5+ Railmasters. I tested his assertion, and realized that to my wife, all of my dive watches look like "my old Rolex" per her words. For the past 6 months I have negotiated the tricky waters of watch buying and keeping the wife in the loop and happy. Well, that all changed yesterday, as she was a bit more astute in regards to my collection than I previously thought. Upon returning home, she quickly asked, "Did you buy another watch?" "Yes", I muttered, "how did you know?" "Your dumbass posted it on Instagram." "But how did you know? I didn't say it was a new watch?" "Because you said it needed some casework, and none of your other ones need casework." Stone cold busted, and after some expletives, pleading, promises, and flat out groveling, I am fine, and it was well worth it!
WARNING! ...she just joined OF... BTW, if you are really in the doghouse you can keep the SM300 at my house.
I can relate to this. My wife's close vision isn't what it used to be (thank god). My daughter on the other hand.......Whenever we go out to dinner with her and her husband I hear "Gee Dad, when did you get that one". Busted. And to think I raised this child.
I think there are worse pictures you could put up on instagram , she should be happy it is just a watch ...
Lately my wife has been more interested in my watches, especially after I watched with my father the recent Ebay auction of the 2998 discussed at length here on OF. I am not quite sure what's going on but the brakes just went out on my car again.
the "new strap" angle works for me.. https://omegaforums.net/threads/how...rs-yet-another-watch.37555/page-2#post-431570
LOL...the problem is you married a woman that understands what casework means...some of us are blessed.
I'm pretty sure squirrels bed down before 11PM EDT, especially 'Master' ones... but with the coming of daylight...
