Thanks!
So what do you think about a potential relume? And the hands? Do they seem period correct?

Lume looks original imo.

Nice catch.
As mentioned previously, hands appear to have been stabilized? I noticed in OP’s first picture the lume is not even...looks layered. Still, possibly early or high quality work on hands and possibly dial!

Sorry to be clear I was only talking about the dial which I still think looks original.

Agree hands look to have had work.

You have a nice example and I’d be very happy, especially at the price paid!

I would be happy to take that horrible POS and dispose of it appropriately. Feel free to send it to me and it won’t be source of stress anymore 😁

I’m not stressed anymore, I like it anyway, I’m more in research mode now, trying to know as much as I can about it.
I’ll probably try to source a matching band now too...

I think it is a nice watch.
There is a member here who can refurbish that bezel, pm me if you are interested. Afaik he is the only guy that can do this. The lume is up to you, the same member could help you there with aged lume.
Best of luck and well done.

Pricewise? I’d need a 1019/516 for this, right?
Seems like it’s about 1,5k...Maybe à nice nato will do the job too

Thanks! I like it the way it is, I’m not a fan of restorations 😀

You could put it on a mesh?
Tropical is one really good way to go. Makes a black dial and patina even more in the centre of attention as the bracelet doesn’t steel attention from it but still looks good and vintage correct for the SM300.

These things looks good on anything. Throw it on a $15 Nato or perlon and you’re rolling- they look equally good on leather. Keep searching the classified’s here and be patient, your bracelet will pop up. eBay can be a minefiled for these with cobbled parts and fakes.

Thanks for all the advices!
I found a bracelet for sale locally and I just got closer pictures. From early 67. Asking price 1500€
Any particular details to look for to spot potential traps?
I can’t post on FS topics as I don’t have enough posts on the forum...

Thanks!

Can’t speak to the bracelet you found but if there is one for sale on the FS section here you can PM the seller. You don’t need 200 posts to PM anyone or buy from the classified’s
