Thanks for the link.

I'm not sure where Desmond obtained the information in that portion of the document (I didn't read it all), but at least some of it is in error. Where he talks about the date corrector being updated, indeed it was, but in fact the "spiral" date corrector that he says was the problem is actually the updated version, replacing the "more solid part." This change was made so that if the quick set was used while the calendar was in the process of changing, the teeth of the date indicator would not be damaged, which is what happens when the older style is used.

I am looking for a source for confirming this information but the number inside the Omega symbol is related to hand heights rather than updates made to the movements. If I can locate a source I will present it if I am allowed to...

Cheers, Al

"If I can locate a source I will present it if I am allowed to..."
rather intriguing -but that would be good if you could
I thought I knew about the '1' but if it is not correct then I really would like to know the correct version
re the hand height -I think all four of my Connies -which all have dome dials -have a 1 in the Omega symbol -is that relevant?

That's what I was told by a long term dealer - "I was told it was the height of the hands above the dial. 1 signifies the height of the crystal required."

Then again it was the same chap who ripped me off big time a couple of weeks later!
