    Hello fellow members,

I chased my first vintage Omega a year and a half ago - an early 1960's Seamaster DeVille with onyx markers that I still love very much.

But my knowledge and tastes have evolved and I am now looking for another one.

I'm looking for a 1960's Seamaster, preferably in solid 14k or 18k gold and with a curtain/ribbon dial. I will also look into watches with other interesting dial variations.

If you have one that you are planning on selling, please hit me up. :) And thank you OF for the space!

Here are some pictures of what I am looking for:

You have great taste! I am the owner of the beautiful ribbon dial in your last picture. Don’t think I’m ready to part with her right now, but dibs noted.

And you have great taste too! :D
A very nice SMD with a 14k gold Ross case and a stunning dial!

I know there is one coming or going every once in a while so I know that eventually I'll get a chance to get my hands on such a watch. Now that this thread is around, I hope that potential sellers will have that in mind.

Yep, the Seashell/Clamshell is another very nice dial variation! So art déco! And there may even be more interesting variations to be seen. I've heard of the concentric rings dial but I'm not sure of its legitimacy.

    See any red flags?

Redialers in Saigon love to refinish with this pattern, it is way easier than sunburst.
Red flag? Swiss Made no T.

Very interesting. It's a shame though, being so good at it and doing such flawless work on the fonts and finish and forgetting the "t" like an idiot. They should hire British folks to do that, they'd never forget about the "t"! :D

Thank you! I'm looking for a gold one though, but my God! Vintage watches and bugs?! I'm definitely following that dude!

Thanks for pointing this. I didn't know it. I would have bet on this dial being original.

Indeed and me too. Thank you @hoipolloi, being able to identify these expertly crafted redials is a precious gift.

I also found about this variation, sometimes called a "diamond dial", but makes me think about a mattress for some reason:

I have no idea if this one is legit, it has a simple "Swiss" inscription at 6.

Not a dial variation but the kleerbacks are great too:

And I also have to admit that I can't resist the effect of a classic sunburst dial with chunky baton markers:

The no-T swiss could be correct for 1960~1964, before the T was codified into law.

My 1962/1963 165.001, original tritium dial with no T. Pics belong to @GMOG :

Thank you. If I hadn't already have a Seamaster I'd be really tempted but I want to take my time for this one and try to find a gold case.

Could this mean that this dial is original?

I haven't seen one like this before.

The coat hanger 'S' is an early style, the pencil hands are a later style, I suspect this might not be correct
