Hello, all members of omegaforum’s.
I want to share this latest watch in my collection.

I think it was uncommon pattern of this dial’s style.
It was omega ref. 14762 62 SC , serial no. 19,667,xxx (around 1962 of production year) with cal. 562.

In my opinion:
- The gold-cap case looks ok.
- The ‘ribbon’ or ‘curtain’ dial was original one.
- The crystal with 'signed omega' plus 'enlarger at date-window' was original too.
- The caseback was original.
- The movement was correct, original and quite clean.

I concern only the crown because when I search about the crown in ref.14762 with ribbon dial in this forum and via google. It should be thin-scallop crown (such as from liveauctioneers.com and @seekingseaquest . However when I found another ribbon dial in ref.14762, I can find ‘scallop crown' but it looks thicker than those thin crown from @seekingseaquest . I can find not only thicker crown from omegaenthusiastltd.com (mentioned that it was "original signed crown"), but also from catawiki.com. (pics were attached below)

Nevertheless, I think that the crown from omegaenthusiastltd looking the same as mine (I compare both of it as shown).

By the way, I think both of them were not factory original but it looks not bad.

I also found this ribbon dial’s style too in nearby reference such as 14761,14763.
Moreover, I can find in nice 18k example from @hoipolloi (don’t know his ref.), plus ref. 14384 and ref. 166.010 too.
I gather all of them together.

My wrist shot:

Finally, Duo of my ‘ribbon or curtain’ dial in both seamaster and constellation. (I think constellation was more uncommon)

Please comment about my seamaster, especially can my crown be original ?
If anyone have ‘curtain or ribbon’ dial in seamaster, not including in my research, please share too.

Thanks for watching.

Crowns are a replacement part so it's not unusual for them to be non-original.

I do believe yours to be a replacement based on my similar watch

Finally, I just get the thin-scallop crown that I believe it was correct.

I’ve got one too, I’ll try to add some pictures but I am reducing the collection down so this one may go before I do that.

Beautiful watches in this thread! I love whacky textures on dials. I wonder why uncommon textures are so, well, uncommon? Even in modern watches. High production costs or lack of demand?

Wow, nice one @hejsam 😉

I think that I never see it before.
It’s quite unusual with “thinner” ribbon pattern.

Thought I should share some more pictures of the dial, its quite unusual due to the thinner "ribbons" as well as the lack of minute markers. I did not manage to find one exactly a like when searching the web, have anyone else seen one?

You're welcome, I'm still maddened by the fact that I missed that eBay auction. 😁

Here's another slight variation on the ribbon dial theme which I picked up at a watch fair today. It's an 18kt rose gold 2849, with what could possibly be a Deluxe gold dial, certainly with onyx markers at the quarters ( I'm not sure yet if the dial is 18kt )

Here's a couple of 'just bought' pics before a case clean and Polywatch session.

+1 👍 That is very likely a 18k dial.

This is my English cased YG 166.025-62 for comparison:

And this is how that dial looks from the back:

EDIT: I had another look: It is actually Swiss cased with English import hallmarks. Don't want to leave wrong statements, in the interest of posterity 😉
