Hi,

I'm considering a Root Beer GMT , The watch I'm considering has had a replacement Bezel that matches the original but of course has lost the fading and character. Could anyone advise If this significantly reduces the value?
Any other advice also appreciated

Thanks

Depends.
1. What reference GMT?
2. Is the bezel new or just the bezel inlay?
3. Is it original parts and are they period correct or modern service parts?
4. How does the rest of the watch look - i e does the bezel stick out like a sore (or rather as a healthy) thumb compared to the other parts.
5. If you buy into the whole "patina adds value conspiracy" (a somewhat sick notion that a weathered/beat up watch will/should/would have a higher value than an identical and original watch in perfect condition) or not.

Thanks for the post. It's a 16753. The bezel is original , it's the insert.
I'm not sure if it's Rolex supplied but the overall look of the watch is good.
I prefer a clean watch anyway and don't really go in for the patina but just wanted to ensure I didn't make an expensive error.

Same watch, 3 bezel inserts.

The new one was ordered through a Rolex AD. It was cheap when ordered several years ago, would not be surprised if it has gone way up in price now though.

Still quite appealing without the bezel. Thanks for sharing.

Mine says hello too.

Me think you don't take care of that fine piece properly, why I suggest you sell it to me. Pronto. 😁

For some time I actually and actively searched for a bezel and inlay to complete it. Today - I do not know anymore. It is such a nice beater as it is. If I happen to stumble on a genuine bezel I will see... Not searching any longer though.

Beaters are the best - Enjoy!

I guess I'm stuck with the one I have. Luckily pretty satisfied with it

Crystals are for sissys. And the patina is unique 😀

Yes, crystals are overrated! 😉

Nästa steg är att ta bort all lysmassa i visarna...

I'm not usually into Rolexes, but I really like this watch.
(I suppose it should come as no surprise that you like "nude" hey?🙄
Those Swedes…)

Wow. What a dial. Can't imagine you actually wear it without a crystal though?….
