Just to irritate everyone...I actually think it would similar to Rex, 3rd declension in Latin:
Rex...Reges
Rolex...Rolges 馃槣馃槈馃榾
And in the interests of fair play what does that Latin trick do to Omega?

Keeping the comparison with Rolex in Latin, Regina (Queen, 1st declension) would make sense, although Omega is of course Greek.

Regina...Reginae
Omega...Omegae 馃槈

So Rolex vs Omega is Rex vs Regina. Erm, does it sound better to say a queen rather than a king is sitting on my wrist? Latin is too problematic, I think I prefer Greek, oh no that's even worse. Can we just skip all this classics stuff!

well between the two I would certainly prefer a "female regina"馃槈...but I think we might be venturing into caligula territory soon...so indeed...let's skip the classics and get back on topic! Cheers

Spent a couple of hours wandering around York yesterday and something caught my eye in a jewellers window - a Globemaster! Everywhere I've asked so far (about 3/4 ADs) didn't even know when exactly they'd get them in, so I was quite surprised.

It was the White dial, on SS and Sedna with strap, but the blue should be coming in soon. Ended up spending over an hour in there chatting to the manager about watches of all brands. Even though it was quite clear I wasn't going to buy there and then, we handled watches from AP, JLC, Nomos including a JLC Duometre and Tourbillon, and my favourite of the bunch, the JLC Tribute to Deep Sea Alarm.

If anyone happens to be in York, I thoroughly recommend Berry's Jewellers. An excellent selection and courteous, friendly and attentive staff. Anyway, my (poor!) Globemaster pics. Looking forward to seeing the blue!

@Riviera Paradise - Thanks for the recommendation but I was actually in York, the 'original' old Viking Town in North Yorkshire, England, not New York! :-D

I am however moving to the US in the Summer (towards the West Coast) but New York is definitely a destination on my 'want to visit' list so I'll bear it in mind!

I' m saving money to buy the Globemaster MC. Give me another 3 mths please !!! I Just Love That Sexy Vintage Appeal of a Fusion of Heritage & Legacy Oozing on the Exterior & Nature Defying High Tech Sophisticated Engineering Hidden in the Interior. The Globemaster will kickstart a Family Heirloom as far as i'm concern.......but i will hold my breath first , waiting to see what new Master Chronometer models Omega has to offer in BaselWorld 2016....Fingers Crossed !!!

I couldn't agree more. Well stated MeganFox17. The joining of technology and history/heritage really does it for me.

I personally like the fluted bezel also.

Sorry...lovely York, of course! 馃う

Sort of aiming to visit York with our kids 2018 or so during my next UK trip, perhaps en route to Scotland. They have a great railway museum there and David Hockney now has a museum for his collection just an hour drive away (nearer Bradford). I also think Castle Howard, the stately home used as location for Brideshead Revisited (oirginal ITV/Granada series) is also near. Cheers

I grew up in Bradford and I'm a Yorkshireman through and through. York I think is my favourite UK city. Such rich history and unique character. The railway museum is excellent, as is the Dungeon, and Jorvik Viking centre (although sadly that is closed until further notice as it was severely flood damaged late last year).

And, as I've found, it's great for watch hunting - not only are there a few different AD's (and the aforementioned Berry's) but quite a few pawn shops with a good selection of vintage Omegas, Rolexes, Zeniths etc.

Anyway, back on topic...

Yes, back on topic, two weeks ago now I purchased a blue Globemaster on bracelet at the boutique in Boca Raton (strap/deployant on order as well), loving it. It's been on average within about 1/2 sec/day or less.

@Optimizer13 took better pics of it than I can when he visited last week:

Hard, but you've done a good job. That "look" is one of the hundreds I get with mine. Damm this watch is cool.

Globemasters are out there...
Platinum Globemaster not yet...
But all other models are available....
In the past Production wouldn't start on models until after Basel, and was based on reception... The future should be different... Basel 2016 models already in production...and the fair is going to start serving as a 'premier' rather than a 'dress rehearsal'..
And everything is a lot more organized now a lot was set back due to that questionable event of whether they should put the date on the LE globe or not, so as of now that is not a reoccurring issue so from what iv heard production is at a good pace

Dropped by the Royal Exchange boutique as I was too early for a meeting, and finally got a chance to try on a Globemaster - the Sedna Gold / White face version. It was a lot nicer on the wrist than I expected, and I really liked the bezel and the display back.

Must say though, it did feel slightly 'empty' and clinical, possibly something to do with the massive gap between glass and dial? I'd prefer it to be a couple of mm smaller too. Still, I probably wasn't in the market for the Globemaster in any case - I have both a pie-pan dial and a fluted bezel in their respective original connies! Perhaps if the Globemaster got a GMT function that would be compelling.

I did however, walk out with the Speed edition of Lifetime magazine courtesy of the very helpful and personable chap behind the counter, who spotted I was wearing a speedie. It's a pretty good read, great non-watch sections on Concorde and Dreyfuss streamlining.

EDIT: Looking back through this thread, I should have asked to try the blue dial version! I may need to go back .... 馃グ

To hold up this wonderful thread here's my new Globemaster. Bought it on Saturday and I'm over the moon. It's so lovely, especially in the sunlight.
