Ignore for a moment the horribly out-of-focus image of this GM and ask yourself "which model am I looking at?"
You could be forgiven for thinking it is the Steel-Yellow Gold-Blue Dial Globemaster, but of course there is currently no such model available. It is in fact the Steel-Tungsten Carbide model 130.33.39.21.03.001 illustrating yet another surprising colour change trick.
[emoji1] Hey @Longbow i use to do that ..i still do ! Unfasten the strap then put my watch on the weighing scale in the frozen food section at the local giant hypermarket[emoji12]
Wow[emoji15] Impressive ! i believe it's got to do with TC's metal matrix composite.Light bouncing of the fluted bezel creates an neat optical illusion
I guess it's another reason why TC is now widely used in the jewelry industry esp Men's Wedding rings huh..
I wasn't really sure where to post this, either here or under the Shark mesh thread; but since the photo series tries to capture the blue dial colour changes I thought it more relevant to this thread.
As a research & development engineer I'm always playing around with new ideas and I was curious to know how the Globemaster would look on shark mesh. That might seem like a crime for a brand new dressy watch, but curiosity got the better of me and I have to say I was surprised how much I liked the end result. The first day I wore this combo in the office one of my "died in the wool" Rolex Sub fan colleagues spotted it, insisted on trying it and then spent much of the day drooling over it.
The Globemaster has often been likened to a Rolex DateJust, since both have similar looks and work well with a range of strap colours, quality and bracelet types. But I have never seen a DJ pull off the shark mesh combination, (just Milanese). So here goes:-
