For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
Th' oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely....

Time for Globemasters to "Cry 'Havoc!', and let slip the dogs of war".

#1 Longbow: Official purchase date 16.3.16 (actually paid and collected earlier but I liked the symmetry of the date, so that's what's on the Warranty Card - thank you Omega, your great sports!

Wow, you had a long wait! Same model as mine. Do you also get these little flashes from the Connie star and the constant colour changes from the dial?

    Good Morning @Longbow

Why...???...That's an Act from Shakespeare's Hamlet !!! ...although i cant remember the act scene page something something ....

    It's 8.50am Sat 19th March Malaysia +8 GMT , BaselWorld 1.50 am +1 GMT

This is the thread you want me to join ? So i guess i would also be on the receiving end & female Bashing from the certain individuals as usual.....? Yeah. The only Avatar i know is watching James Cameron's Avatar & i was trying to learn the language of the Na'vi people on Pandora !
I suppose ..i guess Globemaster should be my favourite topic huh & seeing all those tasty beautiful macro photographic images gives me some sleepless nights
Why Globemaster thread again ? Because The Rolex Boys are laughing & gleefully rubbing their hands in delight watching our own Omega Gladiators battling It out Bruising & Bloodied on the Colosseum ?

I think Omega are using some trick psychology on us all. You know, you can't appreciate the warmth of a spring day sun without a dreary grey February. Indians never complain on the first day of the monsoon rains. You need light and darkness for contrast.

Now you sound more like an Indian ! Or A British Raj......!
Light over darkness thinghy. that phrase "Indians never complain on the 1st day of the Monsoon Rains " It's True Longbow if only Nature was Kind to her land & the people. The recent Great floods Dec 2015 in South India saw > 500 dead 2 million lost their homes +USD 15 Billion property lost .Nobody there will be prayin for rain this yr...

Omega doing the Trick Psychology ? Is it something like Reverse Psychology ? You better be dead right bout tis longbow.....i took some pictures of my beloved ol' Blue Connie on display in the boutique.. I'l try & upload them on the thread...

On the upside, the date window is at the 6 o'clock position making it less eye catching as on a 3 o'clock position.
Very easy on the eye this watch as is the platinum blonde.
    Regards.

@Longbow to follow your Shakespeare theme, Hal sums up this contrast dynamic quite nicely in Henry IV Pt1:

"Yet herein will I imitate the sun,
Who doth permit the base contagious clouds
To smother up his beauty from the world,
That, when he please again to be himself,
Being wanted, he may be more wondered at
By breaking through the foul and ugly mists
Of vapors that did seem to strangle him.
If all the year were playing holidays,
To sport would be as tedious as to work,
But when they seldom come, they wished-for come,
And nothing pleaseth but rare accidents."

the more often i see it the better I like it ...

    but ...

is there a technical reason why they had the dial so far down? that throws the whole "formal feeling" of the watch somewhat off (I know part of it is due to the pie-pan crease) ...

other than that I am warming up ;-)

    Hi @al128
Is that feeling based on photos of the Globemaster or based on your own personal experience? Sorry I don't mean to be condescending, just trying to distinguish between real experiences (hence this owners thread) and all the armchair expert stuff that's been flying around since the GM was first announced. Hopefully the real experience feedback here will help the undecided folks make more informed, aka better choices, one way or the other.
I did a few formal shots of mine a few days ago as suggestions for a wedding watch. I think it works just fine, but I'm probably biased by now, so I recommend to take a look at this other thread and tell me if you still have that feeling:-

GM Owner's useless fact of the day:-
"The basic Globemaster Model 130.33.39.21.03.001 weighs in at ......2251g!*"

*If you include all the packaging and standard stuff that comes with it in the box. Its a packaging thing.jpg

Less than 5% (by weight) is the actual watch.

Do not expect a sympathetic ear at your local AD when you quote this as a bargaining strategy to get the price below 500€.
