Hi, recently purchased this omega geneve dynamic sports black racer automatic.

Can anyone provide more details on whether it’s genuine, dial has been replaced etc?

Pretty new to omegas, the watch itself is real. It has calibre 1012 omega movement. Any advice would go a long way.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't believe this one is genuine. Several years ago, there were a few sellers (mostly in the UK) who used to sell DIY dynamic kits where you just needed to source a movement and the kit would have a fake case, crystal, dial, hands, crown, etc. This seems to have been built with one of those fake kits.

There are a few tells. 1) the lume is white and the watch looks brand new, both unlikely with a 40+ year old watch; 2) the date wheels seems to be gold colored, when it should be silver--a common sign of a donor movement; and 3) afaik that is a fake bracelet and I'm not aware of any gen dynamic bracelet with a flared top center link like that.

Keep in mind that these racing dials are very very uncommon. I've been hunting for and collecting dynamics for 3-4 years now and I only recently added a genuine black racing dial to my collection.

Ah, understood. Pretty rookie move on my part. Do you reckon there’s any value in this at all? Or any way to check for sure if some parts are genuine?

Did you buy it online? If you can return it, I probably would just send it back.

The movement is most likely genuine. That's usually worth around $100-150. Hard to say if anything else is.

Here is an original dynamic grey/black/anthracite type racing dial (AM strap converter):

However, I will note this is a series I dynamic. The case in your photo is a second series case. I think they made a matte black racing, but I have yet to come across one.

I did buy it online for around 500£ but it’ll be going back. Thanks for your help.

Also that is an absolutely stunning piece.

The seller (CTP) has been known to be loose with facts when describing their products.

They seem to have an inordinate amount of vintage Omega Seamaster 300s, 120s etc, and also an inordinate amount of empty Omega cases from many different models.
😒

Also a few other points.

@Ashxh your first pic is the same as one seen on a fake parts suppliers website. Did you buy it there or are you in fact the fake seller?

Can you indicate where you got it please, it might help to warn others. I initially said link but let’s not promote them.
