I love the earlier versions but don't like them at all with Gallet written in the modern font, the font clashes totally with the old case/bezel/dial design asthetic IMO. I was lucky enough to pick this one up a couple of years ago.....with a San Francisko dial I might add ( although I'm still looking for the correct sub dial hands )

Those later Landeron-powered FO pieces are not appealing to me personally. I find the dials unattractive the case is utilitarian, the hands look odd, and the movement is entry-level. However, I do love the first generation snail-dial Venus 150 version, even though they are small.

Yes. Same sentiments. After reading up and comparing the various versions through the years, I was more drawn to the earlier 50-60s versions. Somehow the bigger print GALLET on the dial of the newer ones don’t appeal to me. The one you posted is simply stunning. I was trawling through some old websites and these hardly ever go on sale though, and when they do....

I picked up this one a few years bacl, which research tells me is likely a 2nd Gen. Love the spelling of the cities around the dial!

That's a nice one. Not only the dial with matching lume and radium burn - the bent lug case is also awesome.

My 3rd generation “jumbo” with Venus 150.
Chrono sweep and subdial seconds hands are replacements.

Very nice. What’s the Brevet 215450 inscription mean?

Great question! I have the same on my dial, but I couldn't find an answer when I bought it a few years ago

Presumably a Swiss patent number for that particular case design.

I own one of these and never noticed the San Francisko wording.

Thanks for pointing it out!
