2nd Generation Gallet Flying Officer. Head only. Year: I believe circa 1950's. Case: Unpolished and sharp. 35mm not incl. crown. Wears larger than 35mm would suggest. Dial: Original silver, not refinished. There is some radium burn on the dial between 7 & 8 near the centre and a few "dots" but otherwise fairly even patina. Hands: Original blued. Some lume missing on the minute hand. Movement: modified Venus 150. Service history unknown. Keeps good time and chrono resets to 0 but would recommend a service either way. Bezel: Original. Paint is fading from some of the numbers. Crown & Pushers: I believe the pushers to be original. I'm uncertain of the crown. If I had to guess I'd say the crown is not original. Either way, the crown likely needs to be replaced. It is starting to come loose. Price: hard to find what market would be for one of these as there aren't a lot of examples I can find. I'm going to price it at USD$2,750 shipped and insured (from Canada) with Fedex/Parcelpro and go from there. PayPal ok but +4%. That's all I can think of. PM me if you have questions. Thanks for looking. These are all the photos I could readily find but can take more if necessary. Sorry, don't know why some are upside-down.
Great watch, I think it is hard to find a proper flying officer these days. Too bad I am cutting down on buying....
An interesting watch, but in that condition and a 35mm case and without a verifiable market the price seems quite high to me. JMHO. At a more rational price there might be a lot of interest. Good luck with the sale.
What would a rational price be without a verifiable market? In any event, let's try this: USD$2,250 or best offer.
Beautiful. GLWS! Some food for thought.. top condition Multichron 12s have reached the $4k range retail
