This is a later execution of the Mark I as it sports a bakelite count-down bezel. Yet still early enough to have it's original radium dial. The crown is an incorrect replacement, so I don't know if the watch started it's life with the non-screw or screw-down crown. It is currently non-screw.

There is one more issue, and this one requires immediate attention. The hands are not moving as they should due to a loose cannon pinion. So the movement will beat away with a good power reserve, yet the minute and hour hands barely move. I noticed this starting to happen about two years ago, but was not wearing the watch much (I have another Deep Blue which is I wear frequently) so put it on the "low-priority" section of pieces that need to go to the watchmaker.

Pics tell the story, and please feel free to request more.

Dial: In nice shape and with degradation bordering the lume bars that is often seen in old Deep Blue radium dials. Very minimal amount of residual glow that lasts 1-2 secs after light exposure. My pictures accentuate the flaws. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised when you see it in person.

Hands: Good condition with minimal oxidation. The radium lume has patinated to a pink/beige color that contrasts with the lighter patination of the dial lume. Exception is seconds hand which is very dark green/black.

Bezel: Bakelite insert in count-down configuration. Small crack in beige triangular zero marker, otherwise excellent.
Metal bezel in excellent condition and ratchets firmly in both directions.

Case: Despite numerous shallow scratches and surface dings I would have to call it in very good/exc.- condition. It is unpolished and presents well with remnants of factory satin finish on sides. The case back looks "soft" in my pictures. Much better and obviously unpolished when seen in the flesh.

Movement: FL 1152 that looks and is running well. Please assume it needs service as I have no idea if one has ever been done. And it does need the cannon pinion fixed. These 1152 movements can be found all over the place in cheap FL's. So parts, if needed, should not be an issue. Date snaps smartly into place at 12:00

Crown: It is a FL, but an incorrect replacement for this watch. I pulled the stem out for a closer look at the crown tube. It sports a small lip/dish which I believe was placed by the watchmaker to keep the (incorrect) crown from hitting the bezel. Seems plausible to me. See macro pic w/red arrow.

Crystal: Flat, in good shape and I believe it to be original or at least an OEM replacement. Some superficial scuffing seen under loupe at the 0-15 min position and near the bezel.

Given it's issues, need for cannon pinion, possible hunt for correct crown...I think it's fairly priced at $1800.

I accept pp friends (or you pay fee) and bank wire.

Fedex/Parcelpro shipping to lower 48 is on me. Overseas/International will split shipping with buyer.

Having a tough time getting a decent dial shot. Suffice to say that the flaws are almost unoticable with naked eye and dial has a much more vibrant presence when seen in person.

Just took 3 more iphone shots which look only slightly better than when taken with my D700 and macro set up. I really need to relearn my watch photography....
