Well after about 9 months finally saw this email….

Full story is that my father in law ordered this for his wife as a replacement for her aging Cayenne Turbo.
After he ordered it, she claimed she did not want it. So I told him I’d buy it since my wife (his daughter) wants one.
I still think there is a chance that once my mother in law sees it, she’s going to want it (15 years ago when I first met her she drove a lifted H2).
But even if she passes I think I’m on the fence. I have been hearing not so great things about the Bronco since they’ve been out and about.
Catastrophic engine failure. Electrical issues. Build quality issues…
And besides...I'M supposed to be getting the next new car...not her. We got her an Atlas 3 years ago! Lol.

Not one you see in your typical Los Angeles parking garage. Note, they did get a prime relatively safe end spot.

Being a life long Nissofile, first five cars, Datsun 510, 610, 240Z (which I still have after 40 years), and two Nissan Maximas, I have a soft spot for Skylines and GT Rs.

I'm still seriously considering a Lightning Pro if I can ever get the chance to reserve a spot...for a chance to order...for the opportunity to buy at MSRP....sometime this decade lol.

Places are tacking on a markup now, just like they did with the Bronco

It's nuts. A $55k Lightning XLT just sold for $72,555. Lariats have been going for $95k and up and Platinum's are in the $120k range.
So all in all, about a $20k premium give or take on these trucks right now.

Might as well just get a gasser. I can't tolerate the range limitations of EVs for what I do regularly.

I'm a very low maintenance truck guy, which is why one would actually make sense for me.
I don't tow, I don't do any long-hauls. It would just be my vehicle to get me to work and back, and some trips to Home Depot.
But I don't think I'm ready to give in just yet. I have a company truck that I can literally use any time I want when I actually need a bed.
The downside is that if I decide I need it on a whim, it is 25 miles away from my house hah.

Saw this driving south on Highway 99 yesterday, farm country, about 100 miles north of Los Angeles. Not sure where they were coming from but nice to see someone actually driving it like a normal car, followed them most of the way home (LA).

Is that like an "anti-petrol post" 😁
Rare bird to spot for sure!
Lucid seems to be very slow to bring this car out to the market? Feels like I have heard of it for a long time now.
Not sure if I like the styling. Proportions, especially from the front seems a bit out?

👍

They're quite striking in person, starting to see a few here in Los Angeles.

I quite like the rear glasshouse and the shape overall. I’m starting to really get tired of Tesla styling now that they’re becoming every third car. It’s great to see competition and variety.

The interior is pretty wild, mainly the lack of any sort of headliner...

Looks like it would be a sauna in the hot weather...might be valuable to double as a greenhouse when not in use!

I wouldn't want to test it out here in Florida I'll tell you that much hah.
My co-workers Model 3 does a pretty good job staying cool in the heat. Though he will start cranking the AC a good 10 min or so before we go anywhere.
And if you touch that roof glass, it legit will burn you lol.

Just to restore a measure of aesthetic balance after seeing that Lucid, here's something a little more lithe at Brooklands earlier this year.
