Away for the winter. 🙁 Not the Friday Petrol Head post I wanted to give you.

You have good taste...😎
Like yours, mine is also tucked away for the winter... although our winter has been extremely mild and I probably could have extended driving season a couple more weeks.

Does anyone have useful guidance on buying alloys?
Not keen on the stock ones that are arriving on the new sensible motor, so wanting to swap out. I may plump for some other OEM ones, since i have no idea what I'm looking at on the websites. Any dos/don't?
TIA

What car? Generally I stick to OEM wheels or a well known aftermarket wheel that is forged and/or TUV approved. The wheels (and the tires) are the most important things keeping you safely on the road.

Interesting many members are into cars. Growing up in the tri-state area I was surrounded by many mainstream and sometimes exotic European cars so I always had an affinity for them and worked on/owned and drove them and still do. Played with some American iron as well but always preferred driving European stuff for personal road vehicles.

Then in the early 1980's and contrary to my European car interests, I quite accidentally and suddenly got thrust into the position of driver for a newly formed full-on drag racing team. Totally freaky stuff for someone who knew next to nothing about it. However even though I initially had the daylights scared out of me I quickly became addicted to the ferocious engines and staggering horsepower, along with the "all-or-nothing" nature of tournament style racing. It was either be completely prepared and on your game or you're back on the trailer. I stuck to it for almost 18 years until the classes we were running in got so fast and scary, and I was suffering hearing damage from the deafening engines. While touring I did meet a lot of interesting and notable celebs who were racing fans as well as make some life long friends with those in the sport.

I will dig up some pictures and post them.

When my eldest was nine I was able to give him a ride in the first SZ Press Car we had into the UK:

He remains very keen, and I was hard pressed to prise him away from this one at Brands last summer:

I've always wanted to be able to buy him one as surprise, but, dang, funds still do not allow! However, I've partially scratched that itch by presenting him with this, (he pinned it straight on, and he's really quite pleased with it!):

Dads and Sons . . .

I *love* these. There used to be one that lived in Kingston Upon Thames ,used as a daily. Saw it most days, always took a trip around it.

The SZ is on my want list. That car is so futuristic looking and must be a proper driver's car with all that upgraded 75 parts! Either you love it or hate it. Il monstro!
Cool pin! 😀

I'm thinking about a summer project.
My father in law's 997 S motor is on it's way out, so now I'm wondering if it would be worth it to take it off his hands, and do a 4.0L build...
I'm leaning towards "no" haha, but the idea is quite intriguing...

Street Attack or Track Attack package? I’ve been on track with a couple of Katech prepped cars, they are no joke!

Heres my e92 m3. Last of it's kind... Small displacement v8 that revs to 8400 rpm, and a 6 speed.

It has the Street Attack package. It's amazing the capabilities their packages have while still retaining good driveability. The car also has a full Caravaggio interior (minus the dash) which gives the car a well deserved bump in comfort. What I should have done this winter was send the steering wheel to Caravaggio and have them do the Carbon Fiber top/bottom of the steering wheel... maybe next winter...
