Engines to admire at AutoItalia, Brooklands, this week:
Is that a 288 GTO? Number 2?

It’s not... what’s rear transverse mount v8???

I think it’s a 246 with an engine swap...?
It might be a Dino... esp after looking at the sticker. But I’m not sure what v8 fits.

Yes Foo - Dino. Pretty clever installation I think. Would be interesting to know (I'll try and find out) how it affects value:

My first assumption would be that it degrades value.
As with desirable watches: Originality wins.

But cool project for sure!

I'd agree. The lump is a 3.2 from a 328 with 355 throttle bodies. As best I know the increase in performance must be pretty good, the V6 putting out 192 bhp, and V8, 270. Though I'd appreciate that, I'd not delay getting the car onto 'correct' colour Cromodoras!

And I've now found that this car has previously featured on Petrolicious: https://petrolicious.com/articles/best-of-both-worlds-a-ferrari-v8-powered-dino

But what about these seats!:

The two RSRs of the Bates brothers (EB Motorsport) at Masters Historic, yesterday. The sounds from these being revved in the close confines of the Brands garage were more than just spine tingling!

Of all the cars to modify....

Ibha

Yeah, if you’re hacking a Dino you either have deep, deep pockets or it was already cut up.

Either way, I think value is probably last on the list of concerns.

Pre Friday thread bump fo' shame

A question. Do we have any Citroen fans in the house, particularly folks who run 2Cv's or Dianes?
I have been going through some of Dads belongings and came across something I had completely forgotten about, a manual made by the Citroen Car club circa 1977.
We ran several in the late 70's early 80s, just thought before I contact them or chuck on the fleabay if someone here may benefit ( pref Uk for postage)?
Will need proof of appropriate Citroen ownership to qualify 😀

Will update with a photo later.

Here's an unusual one, photographed last week at Lydden - a Tornado Talisman, (I'd never previously seen one):

Bill Woodhouse and Tony Bullen founded Tornado around 1958 and started building cars in Chipperfield, and then Rickmansworth, Herts, England. Initially, this was a model known as the Typhoon, based on the Ford 10. About 300 of these were sold and this enabled consolidation of the company and, from 1960, expansion with new models, Thunderbolt, Tempest Sport (Brake) and Talisman. However, following a change of company ownership, production ceased in 1964. See also: https://web.archive.org/web/2005102...uc.s.easynet.co.uk/tornado_register/photo.htm

Unmasked but still heavily camo'd.
I'm withholding comments till I get to see the whole thing.
This is supposedly the interior however...
