If you ever plan to visit the southwest of Norway, fjords and so on, the owner of the Lærdalsøren Hotel https://www.lardalsorenhotel.no/home-english offers a Petrolhead treat! This baby is for rent to guests.... (And the roads in the region are epic!)
Spent my Friday evening supper hour standing at the side of the road watching a nice young man haul my dead car off to the dealer while my dinner got cold
Day early I know, but I had a couple of hours in this Carrera S (991.2) yesterday and I'm still buzzing. Given the 450 bhp engine, the accelerative ability is hardly surprising, but the braking performance is astonishing - I saw 1.7 g on one stop. I am one of those that tends to think that the 911 (like so many other cars) has put on too much mass over the years, but what with all the 'helping' technologies - like rear wheel steer in this case - this car feels nimble in the way that made the sixties/seventies models so endearing. And, finally, after years of sticking to the line that for real enjoyment a car like this must be manual, I'm a convert for PDK - just brilliant. Is rather broad of beam though . . .
Freaking fantastic color, especially with the PCB's. They are monstrous though. Never driven a 911 more recent than a 997 though...nor a PDK.
Was hoping for a drive since I had the day off... But... So I guess I’ll just clean it in the driveway before that hits.
I had an interesting time today. Wore this... ...to try and fit the LARGEST HELMET THEY HAD in this... ...and that. And here's where my best man ( who was also there ) was delighted to be reminded he went grass cutting on the Stowe circuit last time.
From cars and coffee the other weekend. The 3rd one down was black but brand new with all the Lizard Green accents. Also not pictured were another Lava Orange and Ultraviolet. The Miami blue GT2 in the foreground was posted for sale on BAT and was bid over sticker price but did not meet reserve. I'm LOL'ing at all the would-be 911 flippers. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2018-porsche-911-gt2-weissach-3/
Judging by the looks of them....none of them lol. But this particular C&C is for all the "show-offs". I don;t mean that in a negative way but it is the one with all the exotics and classics of all different varieties. There is a better one on a different Saturday that is more motorsports oriented...and that is where all those cars end up.
I linked it at the bottom of my post. Here it is again! And it's Miami Blue although it does look a lot like Mexico Blue in the picture I posted (light makes a huge difference) https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2018-porsche-911-gt2-weissach-3/ P.S. Does anyone have a 4 post lift in their garage?
Ah thanks - my eyesight! - now found the Miami example on BAT - but the one you snapped is Mexico. These things are obviously ten a penny over there; here in England we're still awaiting the launch of Broadband and the Porsche 993, and bizarrely, it's rumoured future Porkers will be water-cooled: what sacrilege!
You know what, I think you're right. And now my mind is blown. I find it hard enough to believe that there was a Miami Blue GT2RS for sale in St. Pete. But then (now) finding out there there is a Miami Blue AND a Mexico Blue local to me...that's wild. I thought it was just the early morning light that made it look darker. But you're absolutely right. It is 2 different cars. The one in my picture has gloss black handles and the one on BAT are body colored. Plus one has Dunlops and the other Cup2's. Wow lol.
