I liked the old style a lot, but I think the new one is even better and has many powerful features. Aside from some bugs that have been ironed out, I haven't found any real issues. I browse the forum mainly on desktop though, I need to check the UX on mobile.

Yet another small nit to pick: why were the tiny avatars signifying members' participation in threads shifted from the far left, to the far right of the page? As it was previously, when one scanned threads vertically on the left, it was easy to catch a glimpse of any that one had previously participated in. Now, it is necessary to scan a second time on the right in order to catch glimpses of the tiny, signifying avatars.

Seems like a clear step backwards.

Talking about these?

I use a desktop computer, and here's my view (they were previously on the left column):

Oh yeah, I remember that. I mostly use the forum on mobile, but yeah, that's how it was. It made it easier to see if there were self-participated in threads in the list of "Latest" threads. I use the "Alerts -> Show All" mostly for that when I visit the forum so it's not a primary feature for me.

Search system is now further improved with autocomplete being much more effective, if you type say Cal 354 for example it will start offering suggestions for each character typed beyond the second, and it will also handle special characters like in chronomètre. If you haven't given it a try please do, it's vastly better than the old one and this takes it forward another step.

There's also direct links in Latest for every thread you've contributed to and every thread you started.

Thank you, but when I click on "contributed", they are not displayed chronologically.

That’s extremely strange, they should be and are for me, it’ll be chronologically in order of most recent post on them. Can you post a screenshot of what you’re seeing?

My mistake, sorry. I was looking at the dates on the left, which are the thread starting dates. They are chronological on the right.

All good I'm still adjusting to it to 👍

By the way since yesterday there have been over 4,500 searches on the new search system which is pretty impressive, with an average response time of search to the server of 19ms. We're extremely happy with how that's working out now but will continue monitoring it and working with weighting and potentially some more improvements to come.

A quick info that might save someone from a small heartattack: So on the old forum software, when you posted a FS ad, it showed in the "Private Sales" subforum to the OP with a note saying "awaiting approval" until it was approved and thus visible for everyone.
On the new forum software, it does so until you close the tab/window. Open OF again on another device and you can't see your FS ad anymore in the Private Sales. Only when you click on your own profile, and check your own activity, there it is.

How I know? Because I've just spent an hour or so writing an ad, only to die inside when I shut down the computer, opened OF on the phone and it was gone 😁

On a more serious note: The new software is awesome. Thanks a lot for that!

Interesting and thanks for that note, it may be that some better feedback is required somehow
