·I’m very pleased with my Titanium Planet Ocean after a service from Omega Canada. It took 7 weeks but it looks great. I haven’t had it long enough to check the timing but I’m sure it’s fine. It’s nice to have it back. They included all the parts they replaced as well.
Nice! My Ti Planet Ocean 8500 is due for it's first service next spring, along with my SMPc chronograph. So that won't be cheap ($1300).
Omega did an amazing job restoring the case on my old 2298.80 Ti chronograph and my son's X-33 Skywalker, but I think the grade 5 Ti 8500 is a bit tougher material than the grade 2 on the others. Mine don't look too bad (8500 with very shallow marks and the SMPc chrono is minty), so I'm debating about the case restoration portion of the service.
When Omega serviced my POLMLE last summer I refused the polish, since the original finish is so nice still, but I'm not as worried about that on a modern diver as I am on a vintage or an LE. My Planet Ocean LMLE came back at about -1 sec/day on average (it was anywhere from -1.4 sec/day to +2.1 sec/day whenever I would check the timekeeping over a 10 day period). But I'd rather lose 1 sec/day than gain 6 sec/day like before the service.
