Freese Watches 101 Mark 2

I have been watching Freese watches with curiosity since the beginning. I've been tempted, but I have not bought one. The Freese Watches page has been taken down some time ago, and I thought the project was over. However, Simon posted this tease on his Insta back in September. I really like the case design. I'm not sure if I like the diver dial in a case without a rotating bezel.

It does give off Brando vibes, which is cool.

I'm curious about what others think, or if anyone has insider information they are willing to share @Spacefruit.

The case is bespoke and has been specially manufactured by a small engineering firm close to Simons' workshop using his design drawings.

almost 14 mm 😲 In 2024, it is obviously not possible to fit a 4.6 mm movement into a 12 (or less) mm case....

I really like the look of Simons new watch. I have been trying to make contact with simon recently. Can anyone confirm if he is still trading as no responce to multiple emails or calls. I know always super busy but just wondering if something has changed?

I have had a number of interactions with Simon Freese over the years relating to servicing by him of a number of my Omega and non-Omega ETA watches. In no situation have we had extended dialogues about my expectations on no-essential cosmetic issues - I guess I've set my stall out in advance as to whether I'm looking for cosmetic refresh/renewal in addition to mechanical service. Once I asked about an Aqua Terra routine service which he rather declined, referring me to Omega instead

Making contact is not always easy and I don't imagine I'm the only customer who finds this to be frustrating. Emails and voicemails go unanswered. I've been waiting a Flightmaster bracelet refresh and addition of a new link to be fitted for a considerable period: thee last time we spoke he assured me that he'd "get on with it": I'm sorry that this experience is tainting my views as a serial customer.

Yah, my watchmaker has had my Dynamic for 10 months now. Vague hopes it’ll be ready next week. Fewer and fewer people doing that work, many are exhausted and over promised.
