Hi all,

want to warn you about an obvious fraud attempt:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/315048160909?hash=item495a556e8d:g:MNsAAOSwE4FlhckU&amdata=enc: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|tkp:Bk9SR6DVl9OSYw

The fotos show a gold chronometre 2367

however the enclosed appraisal document clearly states case markings for a stainless steel watch CK 2367-2
But it also says case material 18K gold - what the heck 🤦
And the "Fair market value" is set at $ 6740 - despite a laughable attempt of dial restoration

The seller pretends it was his grandfather´s watch but my records tell different:
I have saved the serial# in my chronometre records for a SS watch - it was formerly offered on ebay by a different seller.
The current seller has zero feedback - another red flag...
So be careful out there

It seems I've got to brush up on my Roman numerals. Can't quite make out the pattern of II, IIII, IV, IIIV, ...

It's actually the new standard, just hasn't been released yet.
So, reading from 12, first we have ii (2), iiii (4), then iv (the new 4 now temprorarily at six), then we have iiiv, which will be the new 2.
The rest of the numerals are still being considered by a committee for further ratification.

It seems that both, the dial restorer plus the appraiser have been terribly drunken...

….also, one of the dots is mis-placed on the valuation it should perhaps read 67.40

It seems that the dial "inker" applying the cliche did such a bad job, that the setter who had to apply the indices just thought "Ah, what the heck, it doesn't really matter now".

Interesting signature. Maybe that’s the same person who did this stunning job on the dial 😁
