My father passed away last year, been tidying his garage and found this old Omega watch, was just wondering about it's model/value etc, and this looks like the place to find out. New to this forum, so thanks in advance.
Not worth a lot but if it's able to run, why not change the crystal and have a thourough cleaning? What is taht oval thing on the dial?
Not sure, thought it might have been the watch name/logo, not sure how it would have come off though.
Restore it little bit, mybe little cleaning by watchmaker and new strap. It will be perfect to have it from yours father. Sorry for yours loss.
Thanks for your reply, the watch was my grandfathers as my Dad was not all that bothered about watches etc, so not sure what I will do with it, I fancied getting the 007 Omega with the canvas strap, I much prefer the modern stuff, just have a Tag at the moment.
I think it's a 640 inside. rather simple movement. If you have the opportunity to buy a nice moderne watch we'll be please to help.
Took the plunge and ordered one of these, should arrive tomorrow, like the simple looking ones, should be a nice upgrade on my existing Tag. https://www.beaverbrooks.co.uk/0113851/OMEGA-Seamaster-Diver-300m-Automatic-Mens-Watch/p
Very impressive, awesome thing about these watches is they never seem to get old, the design is so classic and timeless you could have bought that watch only a week ago, my Tag is in awesome condition considering it's 20 plus years old, and I have worn it to work every day. I think one Omega watch is enough for me for now.
Just arrived and must say I am impressed with it, I know it should go without saying but the packaging and attention to detail are very good, one question does anyone use the watch winder, I got a Wolf 1.8 included in the price, Anyway here are some pictures.
