I absolutely love my Polerouter 204612/2

It does have a unsigned crystal(although with a correct "trapezoid" lens), possibly aftermarket one. The biggest issue was that it was cracked at 11'o and 5'o clock. I knew eventually, I would have to replace the crystal with an new one so as to not have moisture ingress through the cracks or have it disintegrate on me entirely.

I did stay on the lookout for a signed UG Polerouter plexi but I knew those were rare as hens teeth or almost unicorn like. 😬

Untill, I found one. As an added bonus I found a proper buckle and a UG strap for it. 😎

I guess sometimes you get lucky. Now sending the watch to my watchmaker for a spa treatment and plexi exchange.🥰

Just wanted to share my excitement::psy::, I genuinely thought I'd never find one these. Stay safe and healthy. All the best to everyone.

Alas, it wasn't meant to be.

My watchmaker called me a little over a month ago and informed me the plexi is unusable 🤔. The retention ring slot/groove had been sanded down and unevenly at that 😕🤨.

I don't know what he meant by it but he called it a "Italian job" , clearly some inside joke I didn't understand. I just laughed along to hide some of the pain 😀😵‍💫.::facepalm1::

There's clearly several millimeters missing from the height and there's literally no groove/slot anymore for the retention ring.

My watchmaker just installed a generic plexi and sent it back. The original(unsigned) cracked/chipped plexi is on the left in the upper photo.

Noob tax.::psy::

P.s. ...the story continues

Like my search for a clean oversized minute leaf hand for my tri compax. My watchmaker finally re shaped the baton it came with. 300 euro wasted.

So the story continues:

Found this:

Yes , I know 🤮. Over polished POS , redial, wrong hands, wrong crown....

But on closer inspection:

😲 ..a signed U plexi. So after some intense haggling I purchased this, made sure I had a 14 day refund right and express shipped both of the watches to my watchmaker.

At day 10 from receiving the parcel my watchmaker called and said the switcharoo worked. 🥰

Now on my wrist. Many would say "You're crazy". I say "worth it".

Happy hunting

Glad it went well. I just know if I tried to organise a crystal-swap it would end up looking like a Croydon bus shelter.

😁 yeah, total failure was an option until I got the phonecall. Happy it worked out.

On the downside now I own a totally useless UG polerouter. Maybe the movement is worth something as spare parts.👎 maybe the seconds hand is legit also? Or is it too long maybe?

So glad this worked out eventually 😁

Finding parts for these watches is getting more and more impossible every day. Congrats!
