Lewis has no pressure. Just a statistical chance of loosing the title. 2019 has not been a good year. Like Haas I am pinning my hopes for a change next year though.

Seems as though Max got driver of the day. I would nominate him as double dumbass of the day. Hit both Mercedes, got a flat tire, and nearly got lapped. Had he had a brain bigger than a squid, and been patient he probably would have won this thing.

Fans like overtakes and Max going from 4th to last to 6th provided plenty of overtakes. Driver of the day to me was either Lewis or Vettel.

I enjoyed seeing Hamilton driving the first few corners like it was the start of the season. I think he got the better of Max with more luck than judgement, but it was brave, and proper racing. I think Max’s overtake on Bottas was genius, totally unexpected and very well done. He was very unlucky to pick up the puncture, and if he hadn’t we would have seen a great race. I think driver of the day is fair, the race ended up being won on strategy as much as driver talent.

There are plenty of example this season of how strategy and tyre management have won through and not how balls out 1st corner commitment gets you on the podium. And yet the red(bull) mist still seems to prevail. Yes, there is an argument that you need to be in front to get your position in clean air but on a number of times this season it's been proved that you don't have to get down the road first to be the winner at the end.

I think that sums up a lot of what is wrong with the sport at the moment. Tyres and aero packages that don't work behind other cars. Relying on a sensible safe drive and an overtake in the pits with a good strategy call is not the F1 I want to watch.

I do think that there is a lot of bias against Max on this thread, he is aggressive and doesn't wait for an invitation, and that is what makes him exciting to watch.

Who was the crazy guy in the first corner in Mexico? I would have to say Lewis, he ran it round the outside of turn 2, and went so deep into turn 3 he ran both of them off track. No complaints from Max. Just racing. The overtake on Bottas was clean, and he just got a tag from Bottas's end plate, very unlucky and also I would say a Mercedes driver error.

Could he have driven more conservatively and got a better result, maybe, who knows, but the exciting overtakes and exceptional car control are what I am here to see. That is what makes a true drivers champion like Senna or Hamilton.

I do think there is much misconception that they drive round like they are on the motorway, having a chat with the pits, playing with some buttons like you do, then some idiot does something rash and crashes.

These guys are on the limit of crashing, or should be, at every corner. This is motor racing not chess. Yes F1 is longer so maybe a little less intense than most motor racing series and does allow for more strategy, but the balance is and should always be on racing the cars on track.

Don't get me wrong, I turn on the TV to watch Verstappen and in some ways would rather he beat Hamilton (at least to hold his feet to the fire), it's just frustrating to see him then go out, or be out of a chance in the race by the first corner. For the record, I'm staggered everybody got round Turn 1 & Turn 2. When you watch the on-board footage you appreciate the skill, awareness & reactions they have.

Agree entirely and was very disappointed to see the puncture. How many over takes from the top 5 after that though?

I believe zero, so I also think taking the opportunities presented was essential if Max was to have a chance of winning.Like Lewis, he is not going for 2nd place, and I love that.

Did I hear Ren team principal Cyril say they were having discussion on whether to continue next year? I appreciate its not gone well and RIC is mutinous but chucking in the towel seems a bit extreme considering how well MCL are doing.

Re organisation at Renault after the arrest of Ghosn, the CEO of Renault/Nissan group. I think new management, new ideas. Who knows if F1 is part of that.

Verstappen needs to be demoted to Nascar where its expected to contact other drivers. I think he would excel there.

Just got back from Austin. Classic F1 with the DFV Cosworth engines were a blast. Sound was so loud I had to leave the main grandstands to buy ear plugs. Kind of hard to see in the Cowboys Cheerleaders picture but when they came out to dance, the Ferrari, RB, and Renault crew came out to the pit wall to watch. They were all standing right behind the cheerleaders staring.

The Brazilian Grand Prix was actually both entertaining and exciting to watch. Congratulations to Max on a well earned win and to Gasly & Sainz for their podium finishes.

Ferrari were their own worst enemy today. ::facepalm1::

That was the race I have been waiting for. Max v Lewis. It is fascinating how much Lewis puts in to beating Max. He lays everything on the line and a bit more. Lost his cool today, and got a bit flustered I think.

    Max’s performance was stupendous!

Ferrari get Vettaled. And So great to see Gasley get that 2nd place! Pure joy in his reaction.

The Ferrari's self destructing with what appeared to be just a touch was odd. Congrats to Max, Red Bull and Honda.

Gasly, Stroll, Sainz, Perez all have celebrated on the podium the past few years with the midfield. I feel bad for Hulk at this point that hits most likely last race is coming up and he never got to stand on it.
