I seem to have developed a love of certain lugs and quite happy to admit it, not a massive amount to choose from but any others have preferences ?

My route with I am sure more to come,

Good idea for a thread! 👍

I would say that lugs are often overlooked, or underrated, and one of the pleasures of collecting is finding a "new" and appealing lug style. Here's an example (no wrist shot yet - it's being serviced):

Totally agree x2. I think the theme that emerges from my small bunch is a preference for fairly beefy styles - but with some off-piste adventures. Such as...

Norman Morris 1958/59, cal 520 man., cased in USA by Lemieux

1949 Certina Kurth Freres ref 8629, chromed SS (needs some chutzpah to wear though - what were they thinking?)

(Yes recently posted elsewhere on OF, sorry...)

This kind of lug is a preference of mine... Lyre, I think they're called? I don't have a very big collection, but all of my watches have them. Tried the 300 Master Co-Axial but the straight lugs were one of the reasons I moved it along - just didn't sit right with me.

Photo is from Omega's site.

At a watch meet up about 6 weeks ago, we had a similar discussion and came to the conclusion that the problem with many modern microbrand watches is that there's little creativity in the lug design. It's all plugged into a CNC machine so there's little deviation in curvature and slope from one case to the next.
